    On 12/17/25 at approximately 1340 hours, an Anchor Point AST Trooper was fueling their patrol vehicle at the Fritz Creek General Store when they observed a staggering individual exit a vehicle that just drove into the parking lot and enter the store. The individual was contacted and identified as Locke N. Rooney (67 YOA) of Homer. Investigation revealed that Rooney had driven to the store under the influence of alcohol. Rooney was arrested and booked into Homer Jail without issue.

    On 12/16/2025 at approximately 2030 hours, AST observed a 1997 black Jeep Grand Cherokee at speeds over 95MPH northbound on the Parks Hwy near McCalister Dr. AST got the vehicle stopped on the Parks Hwy near Museum Dr and investigation revealed the driver Daniel Tolleson age 38, of Wasilla was driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested, transported and remanded to MSPT on charges of DUI and reckless driving where his bail was set at $500.

    On 12/16/25 at approximately 1045 hours, Ian Scott age 21 of Fairbanks was arrested after investigation determined that he assaulted a family member.  Scott was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Facility without incident.

    On August 5, 2025, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft involving Charles Yingst, which led to the discovery of additional victims in an ongoing investigation into his fraudulent business practices. Yingst, who is currently facing a Theft in the First Degree charge for allegedly stealing $48,360, has now been charged with Theft by Deception in the Second Degree for accepting $2,200 for automotive parts and services he never provided. Charges have been formally forwarded to the Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office, and Yingst remains the primary suspect in two additional open investigations for similar offenses.

    On August 5, 2025, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft involving Charles Yingst, which led to multiple additional victims coming forward with similar allegations following the public release of his arrest. Yingst, who is currently under probation conditions prohibiting business dealings due to a prior conviction for defrauding five or more victims, now faces two open cases of Theft by Deception totaling approximately $51,000. Charges have now been formally forwarded to the Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution for a third case involving a $3,000 theft.
