    On April 28, 2025, at 1:57 pm, the Alaska State Troopers received multiple 911 calls about a plane crash in Nanwalek near the airport. The Alaska State Troopers began responding to the scene as first responders and good samaritans in Nanwalek began assessing the three adults on the airplane and providing medical assistance. One adult male passenger was medevaced to an Anchorage area hospital with serious injuries, and the two other occupants were killed in the crash. Troopers and NTSB investigators arrived in Nanwalek on DPS HELO 3 and identified the deceased adults as 48-year-old Homer resident and pilot Daniel Bunker and 37-year-old Anchorage resident Jenny Miller. The NTSB has begun an investigation into the cause of the crash. Miller and Bunker’s next of kin have been notified and their bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank Guardian Flight, Lifemed, Maritime Helicopters, the US Coast Guard, and the Alaska State Park Rangers for their assistance with the crash.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 4/29/2025, at approximately 0900 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received an anonymous tip that Conor Carvalho, age 27 of Wasilla has multiple arrest warrants and is currently at a residence on Mulchatna in Wasilla. AST responded to the scene. AST observed Conor in the driveway and Conor quickly went into the residence and barricaded himself. SWAT responded to the scene, and Conor gave himself up without incident. Conor was arrested for the following warrants. Felony $5,000 for the original crimes of Theft II, MICS V, Theft x2, felony $5,000 for the original crime of Escape III, misdemeanor $250 for the original crimes of Theft IV, Criminal Trespass II, misdemeanor $250 for the original crimes of Theft III, VCOR, misdemeanor $250 for the original crimes of Theft IV and Criminal Trespass II. Conor was transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded and held on a $10,750 bail.

    On April 24, 2025, the Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit (FANT) arrested four people involved in drug trafficking in the Fairbanks and North Pole areas. FANT began investigating the group in late January, including through surveillance, serving residential search warrants and conducting high-risk vehicle stops. During the investigation, officers seized over 6.6 lbs of cocaine, 4.4 lbs of methamphetamine and over $10,000 cash. The four people arrested on charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance include: 40-year-old Willie Wilson of Fairbanks, 28-year-old Jarkese Pridgeon of Florida, 73-year-old Alton Keller of Fairbanks, and 38-year-old Tremain Wilson of Texas. The investigation is ongoing. FANT is made up of law enforcement from the Alaska State Troopers, Drug Enforcement Administration, Fairbanks Police Department, Fairbanks Airport Police and Fire Department, North Pole Police Department, North Slope Borough Police Department, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

    On April 29, 2025, at approximately 0702 hours, AST responded to a verbal disturbance report in the area of Long Circle in North Pole. Investigation revealed that Rachel Okpeaha was violating her conditions of release. Rachel was arrested and transported to FCC on VCOR charge.

    Type: Probation Violation

    Dispatch Text:

    On April 27, 2025 at about 3:33 AM, Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a disturbance in Tetlin. Subsequent investigation over the next two days resulted in Lavelle Jimmie, age 48 of Tetlin, being arrested in Tok for Probation Violation. Lavelle was transported and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center and held without bail.
