  On 04/09/2025 at approximately 1413 hours, Troopers received a 911 call, from the area of mile 41 Richardson Hwy. It was reported that there was an avalanche and two people were trapped. Valdez Search and Rescue was placed on standby. Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded. The two snowboarders were able to self recover and make it back to their vehicle without further incident. No injuries reported.

  On 4/8/25 at approximately 1000 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle roll over on Cripple Creek Road.  The single vehicle crash occurred after the driver lost traction on the icy roadways and no injuries were sustained.

  On 4/9/25 at approximately 1145 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported death off Chena Hot Springs Road.  No foul play was suspected, next of kin were notified and the remains were released to the family.

  On April 6, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a suspected assault that happened in Nikiski. Health care providers in Soldotna and Anchorage were treating an infant for suspected abusive head trauma. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation responded and a preliminary investigation showed that Darian Dwight, 24, shook the baby and caused serious injuries. He was arrested on charges of first-, second- and third-degree assault.

  Type: Sexual Abuse of a Minor

  In July 2023, Alaska Bureau of Investigation received a report of 33YOA Lewis Michael Williams sexually abusing a child. Investigation revealed Williams sexually abused the child in Idaho and in Alaska. At the time of the report, Williams was residing in Idaho. Williams was ultimately convicted in Idaho for three counts of Lewd Conduct with a Child Under 16.

  On April 8, 2025, Williams was indicted by a Grand Jury in Fairbanks for Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree. Williams currently has an outstanding AST/JS arrest warrant for $100,000 stemming from the Alaska investigation.
