On 8/1/2025, at approximately 1845 hours, a concerned citizen called to report a REDDI vehicle driving southbound on the Sterling Highway near milepost 45. The complainant advised the vehicle was having significant difficulty maintaining it's lane, often veering off the road into the shoulder, and then into the oncoming lane of travel. AST responded from Seward and Soldotna and located the vehicle, conducting a traffic stop at milepost 58. The driver, Henry Niehaus, age 44 of Anchorage, was determined to be operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and marijuana with a juvenile household member in the vehicle. Niehaus was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on the charges of DUI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree.

On 8/1/2025, the Alaska State Troopers received a call of a domestic violence incident in Wasilla. Troopers responded to the scene and found the parties separated. Through investigation, it was determined that Mya Holt (18YOA) destroyed property in her household that did not belong to her. She was arrested for DV Criminal Mischief in the 5th degree and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where she was held per the bail schedule.

On 07/31/25 at approximately 2354 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the Mitchell Expressway for speeding. The driver, Shelby Dewey-Davidson 21 YOA, was driving in while her Alaska OLN was revoked for DUI. Dewey-Davidson was issued a summons and released.

On 08/01/2025 at 0214 hours a Trooper was on routine patrol and recognized an individual who matched the description of a robbery suspect reference FPD case 25-2537. He did not listen to commands, ran from the Trooper, and was detained. He was identified as Alexander Erlich. FPD arrived on scene, took possession of him, and arrested him for robbery.

On July 26, 2025, at approximately 1657 hours, Tribal Police Officer (TPO) Arce in Huslia reported a domestic disturbance. Charges on 30-year-old Kevin Albert for assault in the fourth degree and assault in the presence of a child have been sent to the district attorney office.

Update: On Aug. 1, 2025, Adrian Ticket, 37 of Selawik, was charged with second-degree murder, and first- and second-degree assault in the February death of Nettie Ballot. He was taken into custody in February on unrelated warrants and the additional charges were filed after the completion of a lengthy investigation. Ticket is in custody at the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center.
Original: On February 1, 2025, at 1:25pm, Alaska State Troopers in Selawik received a report of a deceased person at a residence in Selawik. Troopers responded to the residence and located Nettie Ballot, age 37 of Selawik, deceased. Initial investigation at the scene determined the death to be suspicious. The body is being transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for autopsy and determination of the cause of death. A person of interest has been identified and is being held on unrelated outstanding warrants. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation continues.
