    On 09/08/2025 at approximately 1921 hours, Troopers took a report of a missing person in the Glennallen area. Carl Degross, 33, of Anchorage, was reported to have gone fishing in Valdez and had not returned to his home in Anchorage. Degross was last seen leaving HUB of Alaska at 09/07/2025 at approximately 2300 hours, and traveling toward Palmer. Degross has not been located at of 9/9/2025

    On 09/08/2025 at approximately 1742 hours, the Alaska State Troopers patrolling the Meadow Lakes area spotted a Volkswagen that was known to be flagged as stolen near S. Padre Pio Road. When the Volkswagen saw AST in the area it attempted to elude on the powerline and ATV trails eventually crashing into the ditch near the intersection of W. Wasey Way and S. Big Lake Road. The driver, Mikeal Pegg foot bailed from the Volkswagen. After a short foot pursuit, K9 Lavi apprehended Mikeal. Mikeal was arrested for Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer 1st degree, Vehicle Theft 1st degree, Theft 2nd degree, and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Mikeal was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for a medical clearance. He was transported to MSPT, where he was held without bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On September 8th, 2025, Bethel Troopers received a report that Hubert Southern, 44, of Napakiak was consuming alcohol and violating his probation. Southern was on supervised felony Probation for Fail to Stop at Direction of Peace Officer, Felony DUI, and Felony Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test. Troopers and Adult Probation responded to Napakiak the next morning and attempted contact with Southern. Southern refused to answer the door. Troopers obtained a search warrant and forced entry into Southern's house where he was located and attempting to egress a window. Southern was taken into custody and remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center without further incident.

    On 09/08/2025 AST received a report of active domestic disturbance at a residence on Dartmouth Drive in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed that a person at the residence had been assaulted by another household member. Charges have been forwarded.

    On Friday, September 5, 2025, at approximately 0330 hours, the University Fire Department (UFD) received a report of a vehicle fire on South Cushman near the Railroad Tracks.  On arrival crews found two (2) vehicles on fire, one of which was fully engulfed.  Based on observations at the scene, UFD requested assistance from the State Fire Marshal's Office.  At the conclusion of the investigation the cause was classified as Incendiary and the fires are being investigated as Arson.  If anyone has any information related to this investigation, please contact DFM Kyle Carrington at 907-451-5200 or kyle.carrington@alaska.gov.
