On 3/22/2026, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point seized a handgun from Curtis M. Smith (61 years old). Curtis had a prior felony conviction and was unable to be in possession of concealable firearms. Curtis was issued a Felony summons to appear in Homer Court and released.

On March 28th, 2026, at approximately 0210 hours AST, the police received a report of a disturbance in the Wasilla area. AST responded and contacted 40-year-old Natalie Berry, of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Natalie had assaulted a household member and broken something. Natalie was arrested for DV Assault IV and DV Criminal Mischief V. She was taken into custody and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial without bail.

On March 27, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that 63-year-old California resident Eric Sommer had been declared deceased at an Anchorage area hospital. A preliminary investigation determined that at around 2:00 pm Sommer had been caught in an avalanche while heliskiing near Lake George. Guides were able to extricate Sommers and transport him to an Anchorage area hospital. Sommers was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Next of kin have been notified.

On 3-28-26 AST responded to a report of a disturbance. Investigation showed that Owen Massingill, age 67 of Fairbanks, was trespassing in a residence. Owen was remanded to FCC without incident.

Location: CantwellType: Driving in Violation of License Restriction-CMVDispatch Text:
On 03/27/2026 at 2144 hours the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop near Mile 208 Parks Highway on a CMV transporting hazmat for an equipment violation. Investigation determined the driver, Terry Miller, age 69 from Trapper Creek was operating the vehicle without wearing corrective lenses as required by his license. Miller was issued a misdemeanor summons for Driving in Violation of License Restriction.
