On March 29, 2026, at approximately 0144 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an active assault in Nikiski. AST responded and investigation resulted in the arrest of Kevin Demspey (28 y/o) of Nikiski. Kevin was remanded at Wildwood Correctional Complex for Assault 4 DV and Assault in the Presence of a Child.

On 03/28/2026, at approximately 1919 hours AST, Soldotna dispatch received a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) report at approximately the 20-mile post of Kalifornsky Beach Rd. of a tan Toyota Sequoia driving all over the road, driving at varying speeds, opening up his door, and throwing up while the vehicle was in motion. Troopers contacted the driver, Ilya Torchinsky (48y/o) of Nikiski. Troopers initiated a DUI investigation, which led to the arrest of Ilia. Ilia transported Ilya to Wildwood Pretrial and remanded him on driving while under the influence (AS28.35.030(a)(2).

On 03/29/2026 at approximately 0108 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a 911 hang-up followed shortly by a rapid SOS automatic crash notification. Following the investigation, John Jaques, age 52 of Palmer, was arrested for DUI and Misconduct involving weapons in the fourth degree. Jaques was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial and held on an OR bail per the bail schedule.

On 03/28/2026 AST received a report from Brett Maybury's (age 31, of Wasilla) court-ordered third-party custodian that they did not want to be his custodian anymore. Brett also called AST, asking to be remanded into custody. Brett was transported to MSPT without incident.

On 03/28/2026 at 1710 hours the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation near Mile 248 Parks Highway in Healy. Investigation determined the driver, Brian Reagin, age 50 from Fairbanks was a convicted felon and was in possession of 5 handguns. Reagin also failed to disclose he was concealing a handgun on his person when contacted by law enforcement. Brian was arrested and remanded to FCC where he was held without bail pending arraignment for 5 counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons 3rd and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons 5th.
