    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/06/2025 at approximately 1945 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on the Parks Highway near Houston, Alaska. The following investigation revealed that Christian Lanham, 24 YOA, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Christian was arrested and transported to MSPT, where she was remanded and held until she could be released on her own recognizance.

    Type: Assault & Criminal Mischief

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/6/2025 at approximately 2210 hours, AST received a report of a disturbance at a residence on Tamar Rd.  Investigation revealed that Jordan Shaffer, 31 YOA of Wasilla, assaulted a guest at the residence and intentionally damaged property of another in an amount of more than $750.  Jordan was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where he was held without bail.  Jordan was charged with Assault in the 4th degree as well as Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree.

    On 05/07/2025 at approximately 1219 hours, Troopers took a report of a stolen vehicle in the Glennallen area. The vehicle was reported to be stolen out of Nevada. Troopers located the vehicle and conducted at traffic stop. The driver was identified and the vehicle was seized pending further investigation.

    Type: Death Investigation

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 6, 2025, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a death in Mountain Village. Laurita Nerby, 19, died after reportedly consuming an unknown substance. Troopers from St. Mary’s, the Western Alaska Major Crimes Unit and the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team responded to Mountain Village. The investigation is ongoing. Nerby’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and her next of kin were notified.

    On 05/07/2025 at approximately 0117 hours, Marilyn Rose Lucy James was stopped for an equipment violation and exhibited signs of intoxication. James was charged with Driving While Under the Influence and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for two additional Failure to Appear warrants.

    On May 6, 2025, Alaska State Troopers responded at 1:07 p.m. to Tanacross on a report of an unresponsive woman who was undergoing CPR. Charo Thomas, 37, was declared dead just before 2 p.m. Foul play is not suspected in the death. Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and her next of kin were present on scene.

    Type: Homicide Investigation

    On May 6, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report just after 6 a.m. that a man was deceased near the Whitefish Campground. The investigation revealed that Tessa Hillyer, 38, fatally shot 48-year-old Raymond McPherson. Hillyer was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on a charge of first-degree murder. McPherson’s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office and his next of kin was notified.

    Type: Motor Vehicle Collision Hit and Run

    On May 7 20205, at approximately 1027 hours, the Alaska State Troopers recieved a report of a motor vehicle collision on Geist Road.  Investigation showed that after the collision the occupants of one of the vehicle left the scene without exchanging information prior to troopers arriving.  The investigation is ongoing and if anyone has information they can contact the Fairbanks Troopers at 907-451-5100.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Type: Wildlife Violation

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 4, 2025, at approximately 1534 hours, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a complaint from Carrian Mueller that she was out to her bear bait site and noticed that someone else had put a bear bait station on the trail that she uses and that it was not posted. The investigation revealed that Tyler Spiegel had registered a bait station at that location but failed to post his permit. Another violation that was observed was that the bait station was less than a quarter mile from the Rippy Trail. Spiegel was contacted and received a citation for the violations and removed the bait that was too close to the trail.
