On 1/23/2026, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Subsequent investigation determined the driver, Corey Bice (26 years old of Anchor Point) was driving with a suspended license. Corey was issued a summons to appear in court for driving with a suspended license and released.

On 01/31/2026 at approximately 2141 hours, a Trooper observed a red Jeep driving eastbound on the Glenn Highway in the wrong lane of travel toward oncoming traffic. A vehicle was seen taking evasive action to not get struck. A traffic stop was conducted. On January 30th, 2026, at approximately 2100 hours, AST responded to a disturbance in Willow. At the scene, AST contacted 46-year-old Mabel Larsen, of Willow. Further investigation revealed that she had assaulted a household member and broken a piece of their property. She was placed under arrest and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial, where she was held without bail for Assault IV and Criminal Mischief V DV.

On 01/30/2026 at approximately 2155 hours Glennallen AST responded to a disturbance in Copper Center. Investigation revealed that Trudy Curley, age 36 of Copper Center, assaulted a domestic partner and caused damage to property. Curley was placed under arrest for DV Assault in the 4th degree, and DV Criminal Mischief in the 5th degree. On 01/31/2026, Troopers responded to a residence in Fairbanks with reports of a domestic violence incident. Through investigation, it was discovered Ulises Bravo, age 43 of Fairbanks, had committed assault against his wife. On January 31, 2026, at approximately 7:36 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Holmes Road and Dennis Road in North Pole. The driver, Vernon Johnson Jr, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and a probation violation after field sobriety tests indicated impairment. Johnson was transported to the Fairbanks Trooper Post, where a search warrant was executed, and blood samples were collected as part of the investigation.

On 12/4/25 Troopers assisted a hunter and his son near Eagle Summit along the Steese Highway. During the encounter, it was mentioned that they are in town from Texas to hunt caribou. The only open caribou hunt at the time was the RC867, which is restricted to Alaska residents only.
Investigation revealed that Coleman S. Payne of Humble, TX owns a small parcel of undeveloped land near Port Alsworth, AK but failed to maintain any domicile in Alaska. Furthermore, Payne consistently made several claims of residency in Texas. Despite this, Payne had purchased resident hunting and fishing licenses multiple times since 2022.
On 01/13/2026, with the assistance of Texas Game Wardens, Payne was issued 3 citations for falsifying information on an application.
