On 11/25/25 at 1530 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off Robinson Loop in Sterling for a report of an intoxicated male who had assaulted family members while in possession of a weapon and left the scene in his vehicle. The male was stopped by Troopers in Soldotna where subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Ezekiel Joseph Daman, 34 of Sterling. He was transported and remanded at Wildwood pretrial without bail on charges of Assault 3rd degree Domestic Violence X2, Assault 4th degree Domestic Violence, Assault in the presence of minors Domestic Violence X4, Misconduct Involving Weapons 4th degree X2, and DUI.

UPDATE, Nov. 26, 2025: On Nov. 25, 2025, Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak were notified that New York resident Malik Johnson, 25, was arrested in Ohio on an extraditable warrant from a December 2024 fraud case investigated by Kodiak Alaska State Troopers. Johnson had allegedly engaged in a phone scam, where the suspects posed as bank fraud investigators and had an elderly woman unknowingly conduct two large wire transfers to another bank account. Once the transfers were completed, they disconnected the call and the woman later found out she had lost more than $95,000 in the scam. Johnson was charged in September 2025 with first-degree theft and scheme to defraud. He was taken into custody on Nov. 25 at the Mahoning County Jail in Austintown, Ohio, and is awaiting extradition to Alaska. Kodiak troopers received assistance from the ABI Financial Crimes Unit, Alaska Criminal Intelligence Center, U.S. Marshals, IRS, New York State Intelligence Center, Suffolk County Police Department Fugitive Task Force and Austintown Police Department.
ORIGINAL: On 12/20/2024 at approximately 13:01 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an online theft of $48,000. The investigation is ongoing.

On 11/26/2025 at approximately 0614 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance in the area of Division Street and Bridge Avenue in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed that Antoinette Klopp, age 33, of Fairbanks, had assaulted her boyfriend. She was arrested and remanded into custody at Fairbanks Correctional Center on two counts of assault in the fourth degree.

On 11/26/2025 at approximately 0019 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks responded to a report of a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of University Ave and Airport Way. One driver was transported by EMS to FMH for evaluation, and the vehicles were both removed due to disabling damage.

On 11-26-25 at approximately 0902 hours, the Alaska State Trooper received a report of CPR in progress at a residence on Easy St. Investigation showed that Andrew Young, 65 of Fairbanks had passed away. Andrew's next of kin have been notified. There were no signs of foul play.

The Alaska Wildlife Troopers conducted a concentrated effort to combat violations related to hunting during the Sitka Blacktail Deer rut in October and November 2025. During the effort, AWT increased remote road system operations, roving vehicle and vessel patrols, and deployed artificial wildlife. In total 26 summons or citations were issued, including for taking game with artificial light, not obtaining a big game metal locking tag, shooting from inside or on a motorized land vehicle while the engine was running, failing to salvage all the meat, not having a hunting license, not validating a harvest ticket before leaving the kill site, and shooting from the roadway. Four rifles were seized, along with two flashlights and one handheld spotlight. Hunters who are caught hunting illegally at night could face fines, forfeiture of their rifles and could lose their hunting privileges for a year.

On Nov. 23, 2025, Alaska State Troopers responded around 2:15 a.m. to a report of a shooting at an outdoor party in Wasilla. Two adults were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. On Nov. 26, 2025, investigators arrested 18-year-old Cole Rankins on charges of second- and third-degree assault, and fourth- and fifth-degree misconduct involving a weapon.
