On 12/26/2025 at around 0024 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point responded to a residence off Diamond Ridge for a report of a disturbance. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a juvenile for assault. The juvenile was remanded to KPYF.

On 12/26/2025, at approximately 1800 hours, Alaska State Troopers (AST), while on routine patrol, initiated a traffic stop on a truck without anti-spray devices in Ninilchik. The driver was identified as Joel Harmon, age 62, of Ninilchik. During the investigation, it was determined that Harmon’s driving privileges had been revoked by the Alaska Department of Motor Vehicles. Harmon was issued a criminal summons for Driving While License Revoked.

UPDATE, 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29, 2025: The human remains were positively identified as 60-year-old Maria Cellarius. Her next of kin was notified.
UPDATE, Dec. 29, 2025: On Dec. 27, 2025, human remains were located at the scene. The remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification. The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is ongoing.
ORIGINAL: On Dec. 25, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report around 2:15 a.m. about a structure fire on the McCarthy Road. The residence had fully burned by the time troopers reached the scene. One adult male was transported by medics to a hospital for injuries and one adult is unaccounted for. Alaska Fire Marshals responded to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. That investigation is ongoing.

On 12/26/2025 AST received a report of a Burglary that occurred in Talkeetna. AST responded and investigation revealed that Bart Dean (Age 48) had committed the crimes of Burglary in the First Degree, Theft in the Third Degree, and in the process violated his conditions of release. On 12/26/2025 at approximately 2250 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. Investigation revealed, Aron Jonz 63 YOA was driving on a revoked license. Aron was cited with a misdemeanor summons and released from the scene.

On 12-25-25 AST investigated a report of reckless driving and brandishing of a firearm. Investigation showed that Isiah Chestnut, age 27 of Ft. Wainwright, committed several offenses, some of which were DV related. Isiah was remanded to FCC for one count of Assault 3rd and three counts of Reckless Endangerment.

On 12-26-25 AST investigated a report of an assault with a hatchet. Investigation showed that Samuel Button, age 24 of Fairbanks, threatened a family member with a hatchet. He was remanded to FCC without incident for Assault 3rd, DV.
