On 3/2/26, at approximately 0010 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Chrysler 300 on Big Lake Road for equipment violations. Investigation revealed that the driver, Michael Longiny, age 38, of Big Lake, had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for an original charge of assault and tampering with evidence. During the arrest, Michael resisted arrest, causing injuries to a trooper. On 3/2/2026, at approximately 0900 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received tip stating that James Eychaner has an outstanding arrest warrant and is violating his conditions release. AST responded to a residence on Longspur Court in Wasilla. AST located James at the residence. James was arrested for his arrest warrant and was charged with violating his conditions of release. James was transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded and held on $2,000 bail.

On February 27, 2026, at approximately 1:42 p.m., the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft from an employee of NAPA Auto Parts located at 722 Loftus Road in Fairbanks. The employee, identified as Stephen McCauley, reported that at approximately 6:55 a.m. the same day, an unknown individual entered the property and removed an extension cord that had been plugged into a store delivery vehicle outside the business.

On March 2, 2026, AST responded to a single motor vehicle collision near the Parks Highway and Sheep Creek Rd. The Parks Highway was temporarily closed. The vehicle was cleared from roadway and the Highway was reopened.

On February 28th 2026, at approximately 2100 hours, on the Old Steese highway Troopers investigated a Hit and Run between a Subaru and a dark red small ford sedan. During the investigation no camera footage was able to be recovered. No injuries were reported from the driver that remained on scene and the vehicle was recovered by a local tow company to clear the roadway of any hazards.
