On the evening of 09/13/2025 AST, dispatch was notified of an overdue hunter in the Skwentna area. A 62-year-old male had failed to return to the cabin after splitting up with his hunting partner at 09:00 am. AST was unable to respond that night due to weather conditions, and the area was only accessible by air. At approximately 12:00 pm on 09/14/2025, AST was able to launch a helicopter and locate the missing 62-year-old male and return him to the hunting cabin. The Male was uninjured and refused transport to a medical facility.

On Sept. 13, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report around 7:45 p.m. that 30-year-old Andrew James Pillans of Kodiak was missing after he left his campsite on Long Island. Troopers and the U.S. Coast Guard conducted searches of the area that night, including by air and with drones. On Sept. 14, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Kodiak Search and Rescue, and the Coast Guard resumed search efforts, including by ground and air. Around 2:20 p.m., Pillans was located deceased from injuries sustained during a fall. His next of kin was notified and his body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

On September 14, 2025, at approximately 0344 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving eastbound on College Rd with no headlights on. Upon contact the driver was identified as Kip Angaiak (24). Investigation determined Kip was driving under the influence. Kip was arrested and remanded to FCC for Driving Under the Influence.

On September 14th, 2025, Fairbanks AST Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driving on College Rd in Fairbanks. the driver was identified as Daniel Bishop who was arrested and remanded to FCC for Fail To Yield, Resisting Arrest, and Reckless Driving.

On 9/14/2025 at approximately 1613 hours AST, responded to an address on Boat Street for the report of a disturbance. AST arrived and contacted Archie Beetus, age 38, of Hughes, who showed signs of intoxication. An investigation revealed Archie was in violation of his conditions of release. Archie was remanded to FCC on one count of VCOR.

On 9/14/2025 at about 2006 hours, AST Parks Hwy Team conducted a traffic stop on a red 2001 Subaru Outback for speeding 79 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. Investigation revealed the driver, JOSEPH STALLARD from North Pole was driving in Violation of his Instructional Permit, a misdemeanor crime without motor vehicle insurance on the vehicle, also a misdemeanor crime. JOSEPH was detained, issued 2 criminal AUC/Criminal Citations for Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit & Driving Without Motor Vehicle Insurance and released with a notice to appear in Court as ordered.

On 9/9/2025 at approximately 0830 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers were contacted by Karl Danielson age 26 from Kenai reporting he shot a sub-legal moose in the Kenai Area. Investigation revealed the bull moose did not meet the regulations of a legal bull moose in Unit 15 (50" or 3 brow tines or a spike). A mandatory court citation was filed with the Kenai Courthouse.
