Location: HydaburgType: DV Assault 1,2,and 3Dispatch Text:
On January 31, 2025, at approximately 0930 hours, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales were contacted regarding a domestic violence assault with strangulation in Hydaburg. A female victim disclosed during an interview with Troopers that she was strangled by her husband, M.B., until unconscious in addition to being assaulted repeatedly over the course of approximately 3 days. During the interview, she also disclosed significant historical abuse from M.B. dating back several months. M.B. was located and arrested for Assault in the First, Second, and Third Degrees as well as Interfering With the Report of a DV Crime. M.B was remanded to the Craig Jail where he is held without bail.

On 01/31/2025 at approximately 1950 hours, AST received a report of a domestic disturbance near the area of Fairview Loop and S Abby Boulevard. AST contacted Ashley Watson, age 28 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Ashley Watson had recklessly placed a household member in fear of imminent physical injury by her words and other conduct. Ashley was placed under arrest for Assault in the 4th degree, per domestic violence and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial and held without bail.

On 01/31/2025 at 1531 hours, AST responded to a residence in Houston for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that, Yolonda George, age 29 of Houston, was violating her conditions of release, her original charges were related to domestic violence. She was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she was held without bail.

On 01/30/2025 at approximately 1856 hours, AST received a report of a DVPO violation in the area of West Susitna Parkway in Big Lake. AST contacted Timothy Jensen, age 56, of Big Lake. Investigation revealed Timothy violated a DVPO by having unlawful contact with a family member. AST obtained a search warrant and served it at the residence. AST located Timothy hiding from Troopers in the wood line behind the residence. He was arrested and charged with Violating a protective order, per domestic violence. Timothy was transported to and remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial and held without bail.

On 1/31/2025 at approximately 0627 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of N Mission Hills Avenue and Pine Ridge Loop in Wasilla. The driver, later identified as Jesse Cannon (39YOA), refused to identify himself initially. Through investigation, it was discovered that Jesse had previously been advised that his license was revoked and he had multiple convictions for driving with license revoked within the last 10 years. Jesse was arrested and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held per the bail schedule.

On 01/30/2025 at approximately 1702 hours Nenana AST responded to a report of a structure fire near Front St. Nenana. On scene investigation showed the structure was a secondary living structure built out of scrap material. The known occupants were located safe away from the location. The cause of the fire is unknown however does not appear to be suspicious at this time. AST thanks Nenana Fire and EMS, and Clear Fire for their response.

On 01/31/25, at approximately 1609 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in Fairbanks after receiving a report of a possible disturbance. Troopers arrested Donald Acker III for Violating Conditions of Release and Unlawful Contact 1. Donald was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center awaiting arraignment.

Location: Trapper CreekType: Take Moose Closed Season/AreaDispatch Text:
On 1/9/2025 an investigation of a poached moose, in GMU16A, was initiated by AWT after receiving a tip, from an area resource user, about a fresh moose carcass located approximately 26 miles west of Trapper Creek in an area closed to moose hunting this time of year. Investigation revealed 69-year-old Anchorage resident, Kevin Norton, to have killed the bull moose while hunting under a lawful permit; investigation further determined he harvested the moose in an area that was not part of that permit. Additionally, Norton failed to destroy the trophy value of the animal as required under the permit conditions he claimed to have harvested the moose under. On 1/30/2025, Kevin Norton was charged with Take Moose Closed Season/Area, Unlawful Transport and Possession of Game, and Failure to Destroy Trophy Value. Arraignment is set for 2/19/2025 through the Palmer Court.

On 11/11/23, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a Wildlife Safeguard complaint alleging illegal commercial fishing activities for whitefish on Lake Louise.
Investigation revealed Kodi Straight, age 34 of Anchorage, and Patrick Hankins, age 44 of Lake Louise, had been illegally commercially harvesting whitefish from Lake Louise during the 2023/2024 season. Kodi Straight had been issued a commercial fishing permit allowing the take of whitefish from waters of the Upper Copper River Drainage from 10/1/23 - 3/31/24. Lake Louise is located within the Susitna River drainage.
Further investigation revealed Straight falsified documents related to his business as a direct marketer of commercially harvested fish and had tampered with evidence to conceal the illegal activities.
On 1/31/25, charges were filed against both men in the Palmer District Court.
Kodi Straight was charged with the following:
- 4 Counts of Unlawful Possession of Commercially Taken Fish, all misdemeanors.
- 1 Count of Prohibited Conduct Generally, a misdemeanor.
- 3 Counts of Falsifying Fish Tickets, all misdemeanors.
- 1 Count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a felony.
- 3 Counts of Falsifying Business Records, all felonies.
- 1 Count of Perjury, a felony.
Patrick Hankins was charged with the following:- 1 Count of Unlawful Possession of Commercially Taken Fish, a misdemeanor.
- 1 Count of Prohibited Conduct Generally, a misdemeanor.
Both men have mandatory court appearances.
