  Advisory Text:

  The Sterling Highway is closed in both directions at mile 65 due to a disabled commercial vehicle. The closure is expected to last for multiple hours. Skilake Lake Road is available for a detour, but the road conditions are extremely challenging. Check 511.alaska.gov for updates.

  On November 11th, 2029, AST responded to a disturbance investigation in Palmer. Michael Turner was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree and booked into Matsu Pretrial.

  On 11/28/2025 at approximately 1121 hours, Alaska State Troopers received the request for an out-of-state agency assist from Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office. Investigation determined Marc Arthur Griffiths, age 33 of Florida, entered the State after a last-minute flight booking following the commission of an offense. A full extradition Florida arrest warrant was issued for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. At approximately 1405 hours, Griffiths was subsequently contacted during a traffic stop on N. Brimar Street in Palmer and arrested. Griffiths was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on the charge of Fugitive from Justice pending extradition to Florida.

  On November 28, 2025, at approximately 2109 hours, AST began receiving REDDI reports in the area of 315 Richardson Hwy. AST was unable to initially locate the vehicle. At approximately 2305 hours, AST received further reports of the same vehicle at approximately 306 Richardson Hwy. AST contacted John Chythlook, age 53 of Fairbanks. Investigation revealed that John was operating his vehicle while impaired. John was arrested for DUI and transported to Fairbanks for Datamaster processing. John was eventually transported to FCC for DUI and Refusual to Submit to a Chemical Test.

  On November 29, 2025, at approximately 0318 hours, Troopers on patrol stopped out with a VID in the area of the Steese Hwy. Investigation revealed that Katherine Dewilde, 30YOA of Fairbanks, was driving while under the influence and ended up in the ditch. Katherine was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

  On November 29, 2025, Alaska State Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a silver sedan. During the stop, troopers found that Preston Clark was violating his conditions of release. He was arrested without further incident and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

  On 11/29/2025 Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a red sedan traveling on S. Cushman. The driver, Killian Lolnitz, age 32 of Fairbanks was revealed to have multiple warrants for his arrest. He was remanded to FCC with no further incident.

  On 11/28/2025, at approximately 2040 hours Cassandra Fickus was pulled over for a headlight violation. After being identified, it was discovered that Cassandra had a 50,000$ warrant. She was arrested and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center. While being processed controlled substances were found on her person, and she was charged with Misconduct involving a controlled substance and promoting contraband.

  Type: Fatal Residential Fire

  Dispatch Text:

  On Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 11:41 pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call reporting a residential structure fire in the community of Eek. At the time of the report the fire had been burning for approximately 45 minutes, and several occupants were able to escape. One adult female occupant was missing. A state deputy fire marshal responded on November 28th and located human remains presumptively identified as 78-year-old Eek resident Xenia Black. Black’s next of kin have been notified, and her body was sent to the state medical examiners office. The origin and cause remain under investigation. Foul play is not suspected.
