  On 2/2/2026, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point received a report of a deceased person at a residence off Oil Well Road in Ninilchik. The decedent was identified as Richard Nadeau (64 years old of Ninilchik). The body was sent to the state medical examiner & next of kin was notified. This incident is not currently being investigated as suspicious.

  On 2/2/2026 at approximately 0655 hours, AST recieved a call of a domestic disturbance at Winter Creek Palmer AK. Upon investigation, the Jeremy Janis was arrested for Assault 4 domestic violence and Criminal Mischief 5 domestic violence. Jeremy got mad and hit the kitchen faucet while the victim was washing her hands. The nozzle broke and hit the victims left hand causing a minor injury.

  On 2/2/2026 at approximately 1140 hours, Patrick Kelley turned himself in at Palmer AST for an arrest warrant. Dispatch confirmed an active arrest warrant $250 cash performance warrant for DUI. Patrick was placed under arrest and escorted to Pretrial without incident.

  On February 1, 2026, at 10:30 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that an adult male had been stabbed in Chevak. Bethel based Troopers responded to the community and began investigating the incident. A preliminary investigation determined that 32-year-old Chevak resident Bridget Chayalkun had stabbed the adult male following an argument. Chayalkun was arrested and remanded to Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center on charges of Assault in the First Degree. The adult male was medevaced from Chevak for medical care and is in stable condition.

  On Jan. 15, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received a report that 15-year-old Andrew Evan had been missing since Jan. 12 in Russian Mission. He was last seen at the school and was suspected to have run away. An extensive search of the community and surrounding areas was conducted in the following days, involving local search and rescue crews, VPSOs, Troopers, K-9s from Alaska Solstice Search Dogs, and aerial search efforts. No signs of Evan were discovered during the search. Active search efforts were suspended on Feb. 1 after multiple days of searching. If new information or evidence is discovered, Troopers will evaluate additional search efforts at that time.

  On February 2, 2026, at approximately 11:23 hours, AST responded to a report of a burglary at the U-Haul facility on Old Steese HWY. The suspect was taken into custody and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility. The investigation is ongoing.

  On 02/02/26 at 1449 hours Anchorage Court Services Officers arrested Lorrena Terry, 39, of Anchorage on an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear. Terry was remanded to the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center and bail was set at own recognizance.
