    On February 6, 2026, 60-year-old Palmer resident Randell Bradshaw was reported missing to law enforcement. He was last seen in the Palmer area on January 22, 2026. Troopers have determined that Bradshaw's disappearance is suspicious in nature, and the Alaska Bureau of Investigation has assumed case responsibility. Anybody with information about Bradshaw's location who has not already spoken to law enforcement is asked to call (907) 352-5401.

    On 2/19/26 at approximately 1914 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers arrested Jesse Barron-Katairoak, age 40, on his outstanding warrant and for Criminal Trespass 1. Barron-Katairoak was taken to FMH for weather related injuries.

    On 2/19/26 at approximately 1435 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers responded to a multi-car crash at mile 351 of the Southbound lanes of the Richardson Highway.  The crash was a result of poor visibility due to blowing snow, multiple agencies responded, including EMS and the traffic was temporarily diverted to a safer route.  No injuries were sustained.

    On 02/20/2026, AST received a report that Ishi Sarten, 36 YOA, had broken a TV at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility. Upon investigation, it was determined that there was surveillance footage of Ishi breaking the TV. Ishi is being charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fifth Degree.

    On February 20, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address near Vassar Circle regarding a call for service. During the investigation, troopers determined that a domestic-violence-related assault had occurred. Dion was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody. He was charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree and Assault in the Presence of a Child, then transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center without further incident.

    Troopers responded to the transfer site near Farmers Loop Road and College Road after a 911 caller reported that a woman was being assaulted by a man. Upon arrival, the male involved was identified as Rafael Fernandez. After completing an investigation regarding the assault, Rafael was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree (DV) before being transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center for remand.

    On February 19, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop and contacted Heidi Self as a passenger in the vehicle. During the stop, troopers learned that Self had two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was subsequently arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without further incident.

    On Feb. 14, 2026, investigators with the Anchorage Airport Interdiction Team identified a suspicious parcel shipped from California to Anchorage. A search revealed the parcel contained more than 3 pounds of methamphetamine and four ounces of counterfeit M30 fentanyl pills. Law enforcement with the interdiction team and U.S. Postal Inspection Service conducted a controlled delivery of the parcel on Feb. 17, 2026. Randy Lee Giddings, 34, was detained after he received the package. He was remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Center on charges of second- and third-degree misconduct involving controlled substances. The investigation is ongoing.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Dispatch Text:

    On January 9, 2024, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified of a search and rescue near Khaz Point. Three vessel occupants, including the vessel operator, 45-year-old Sitka resident James Sturm, were rescued. Two vessel occupants, 18-year-old Darren Borbridge and 18-year-old Sayer Tuzon were located deceased inside the vessel, but conditions were too hazardous to recover the remains of the two men. They both are missing today after the vessel was lost. The Alaska Wildlife Troopers investigated the circumstances surrounding the 26' vessel overturning. Troopers determined that Sturm was intoxicated while operating the vessel. On February 19, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Sturm for Manslaughter, Criminally Negligent Homicide, and Assault after a Grand Jury indicted him. He was arrested by Wildlife Troopers on February 19, 2026, without incident.

    On Feb. 18, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received a request for a welfare check on an adult male in Nikolai around 4:15 p.m. As troopers were investigating, they were informed around 8:30 p.m. that the adult male had been located deceased off a trail outside the village.

    ABI responded to Nikolai and conducted an investigation.

    The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated and everyone believed to be involved has been contacted. There is no public safety risk. The investigation is ongoing.
