Location: Mat-SuType: Fail to Stop, Warrant ArrestDispatch Text:
On 2/25/26 at approximately 0025 hours, AST observed a 2009 White Ford Expedition on Lucille near Aspen. AST attempted to catch up to the vehicle and observed the vehicle speeding over 65 MPH in a 25MPH zone. The vehicle briefly came to a stop near Machen and Stanley and a passenger exited. AST remained with the passenger and the driver took off. AST responded to the area and located the vehicle again on Stanley. The vehicle failed to stop leading AST on a high speed chase around the Mat-Su Valley reaching speeds of 100MPH and driving recklessly. With the assistance of Wasilla and Palmer Police departments the vehicle was spiked and came to a stop near Bogard and Colony Middle School. The driver was identified as William Maki age 22, of Houston. Another passenger in the vehicle was identified as Mejia Hayden age 19, of Wasilla. Hayden was arrested on two outstanding warrants out for his arrest totaling $15,250 for Robbery and MICS. On 02/25/2026 at approximately 0315 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in Wasilla reference a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a female with obvious injuries answered the door. Investigation revealed Keaton Oldham, age 24 of Wasilla, had assaulted a domestic partner. UPDATE, 2/27: On Feb. 26, 2026, the Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team responded to Sand Point area to search for a juvenile who went missing in the water. During the response, the team located and recovered human remains.
ORIGINAL: On Feb. 24, 2026, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a missing juvenile in the water near Popof Island in the Sand Point area on February 23. The missing teenager is still unaccounted for despite efforts of local police and community members to locate and recover him. The Alaska State Troopers have authorized the Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery team to respond to assist local police and search crews in the efforts.

On 2-25-26 at approximately 0720 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of disturbance. Investigation showed that Kimberly Conkle, age 34 of Fairbanks had an active arrest warrant. Conkle was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for the arrest warrant.

On February 24th, 2026, at approximately 1845 hours Alaska State Troopers in Tok responded to a report of an assault in Northway. Investigation revealed that the suspect had committed two counts of Assault in the Third Degree and two counts of Assault in the Fourth Degree against a household member. On 02/22/2026, AWT McGrath Post received a report of a DV Assault in Nikolai. Investigation determined Jeremy Nikolai, age 46 of Nikolai, recklessly caused physical injury to a household member while three children were present. He also placed the household member in fear of imminent physical injury. It was further determined Nikolai had traveled to McGrath, possessed alcohol, and consumed alcohol, which were all in violation of his conditions of probation. Furthermore, Nikolai had at least two previous convictions of Assault within the last 10 years. He was placed under arrest for Assault 3, Assault 4, and three counts of Assault with a child present. He was remanded to YKCC in Bethel.

UPDATE 2/25: On February 24, 2026, a Bethel grand jury indicted 35-year-old Nikolai resident Robert Alexia on charges of Murder in the First Degree, Murder in the Second Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Troopers determined that Robert murdered 81-year-old Nikolai resident Nick Alexia. Robert was initially arrested by Troopers on February 19, 2026, for violating probation conditions and has been in custody at Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
ORIGINAL: On Feb. 18, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received a request for a welfare check on an adult male in Nikolai around 4:15 p.m. As troopers were investigating, they were informed around 8:30 p.m. that the adult male had been located deceased off a trail outside the village.
ABI responded to Nikolai and conducted an investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated and everyone believed to be involved has been contacted. There is no public safety risk. The investigation is ongoing.

On 02/24/2026 at approximately 1520 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a silver Kia Rio in the Three Bears parking lot on Pittman Road. Investigation revealed the passenger, Katy Lewis, age 38 of Wasilla, was in possession of a syringe suspected to contain illegal narcotics. When questioned about the syringe, Lewis attempted to discard the substance within the syringe prior to removing it from where it was originally seen. The substance was tested and confirmed to be heroin. Lewis was arrested for Tampering with Evidence (felony) and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 5th Degree (misdemeanor). Lewis was remanded to MAT-SU Pretrial where she was held with no bail pending arraignment. Investigation continues.
