  On February 3rd, 2026 at approximately 1800 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a report about a possible disturbance at a residence in Homer. AST responded and subsequent investigation resulted in Douglas Green, age 61 of Homer, being arrested for one count of Driving Under the Influence. Douglas was taken to the Homer Jail for the Datamaster process and gave a breath sample showing a breath alcohol content (BrAC) of .128. Douglas was remanded at the Homer Jail for one count of DUI.

  On 02/03/2026 at approximately 0312 hours, the Alaska State Troopers observed a driver slumped over the wheel near Knik-Goose Bay Road and Royal Lane. The driver, identified as Donald Ryall age 65 of Wasilla, appeared under the influence of impairing substances. Donald was arrested for DUI and remanded at MSPT with $1,000 bail.

  On 02/03/2026 at approximately 1031 hours, AST received a report of a student in possession of marijuana at Career Tech High School located at 2472 N Seward Meridian in Wasilla. Investigation revealed a 15 YOA female contained marijuana in a school locker that was discovered by school staff. A search of the locker by school staff revealed two marijuana pipes and approximately 1.79 grams of marijuana. Felony charge of misconducting involving a controlled substance in the 4th degree on school grounds are being forwarded to Department of Juvenile Justice.

  On 02/03/2026 at approximately 0538 hours, AST received a report of a vehicle that went off the road and collided with a tree on Stringfield Rd and E. Prince William Cir in Palmer. Investigation revealed the driver Isreal Smith 44 YOA was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer northbound on Stringfield. It was reported an animal ran out in front of the vehicle causing her to go off the road and colliding with a tree. Isreal was transported by EMS to MSRMC for possible injuries sustained in the collision. Airbags were deployed and seatbelt was in use at the time of the collision.

  On 02/02/2026, Troopers responded to the area of Bonanza Trail & Ivory Rd. for a reported motor vehicle crash. The driver, Joanne Folts age 36 of Fairbanks, was determined through investigation to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and remanded to FCC.

  On 02/01/2026, Troopers responded to 4477 Pikes Landing Rd. with reports that a vehicle had driven into a nearby river. Upon making contact with the driver, Darin Pagh, who had attempted to cross from Chena Small Tracts onto Pikes Landing Rd, it was determined through investigation that he had driven while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and remanded to FCC with no further incident.

  On 02/01/2026, Troopers responded to a residence in North Pole with reports of a deceased individual. Through investigation, it was determined that Robert Arnold, age 27 of Fairbanks, had committed suicide in his home. No foul play is suspected at this time, and next of kin are being contacted.

  Type: Hunting Without a License

  On 01/15/2026, Alaska Wildlife Troopers (AWT) in Bethel received a report of moose killed outside of Kasigluk. Investigation revealed Paul Slim (age 55 of Kasigluk) killed a bull moose without a valid hunting license. Paul was issued a $250 bailable citation for Hunting Without a License.
