On 03/22/2025 at approximately 0025 hours AST received a report of a noise complaint and disturbance near S Foothills Dr in Wasilla, AK. AST responded on scene to a party and multiple vehicles leaving the residence rapidly. AST was flagged down by party-goers and informed a male had been struck by a vehicle during an altercation that occurred at the party. Additional units conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving the scene matching the description, and through investigation, found that Daniel Till, age 19, of Wasilla, had struck the victim with his vehicle after an altercation, causing serious injury to his leg, while under the influence of Alcohol. The Victim was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital, and Till was arrested on Assault 2, DUI, MOCA, and Reckless Driving. Till was remanded at Mat-Su pretrial and held without bail.

On 3/22/2025 at approximately 0630 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were contacted by Yellow Cab to report a passenger refusing to pay. Troopers arrived on scene and found Brooke Mitchell (24 YOA) of Wasilla unable to pay because she did not have any money in her account and was unable to contact anyone to help her pay. Brooke was issued a summons for theft of services and released.

On 03/22/2025 at approximately 1139 hours, AST performed a traffic stop on a vehicle at Parks Highway and Museum Place in Wasilla. The driver of the vehicle was David Waite age 45 of Wasilla. David had an active arrest warrant. David was placed under arrest without incident. He was transported and remanded to MSPT and held with a $250 bail.

On 03/22/25 the Alaska State Troopers located and arrested, Craig Johnson, age 72 of Wasilla, who had an active bench warrant for his arrest, on a charge of assault. Craig was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was held on $500 bail.

On March 22, 2025, at approximately 0258 hours, Fairbanks AST contacted Dustin Walters near Easy Street in Fairbanks. Dustin was found in the possession of several hypodermic needles and suspected methamphetamine. Dustin was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fifth degree and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

On March 22, 2025, at approximately 0105 hours, Fairbanks AST conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Holmes Road and Vasi Way. The driver, William Clatterbuck Jr. of Virginia, was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. He was additionally charged with improper use of registration due to the license plate on the vehicle not matching. William was remanded to FCC without incident.

Update: On March 23, 2025, at 11:00am, Tucker Challans’ remains (age 16 from Soldotna) were recovered from the field by the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group and transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Next of kin notifications have been completed.
On March 22, 2025, at 2:34pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a fatal avalanche in Turnagain Pass. A group of snowmachiners were riding on the backside of Seattle Ridge, which is northwest of the Seward Highway. Witnesses stated that a juvenile male triggered an avalanche and died after being buried. His body is located in an unstable area and the Alaska Rescue Mountain Group will attempt to safely recover his body on Sunday, March 23.
