On 03/26/2026 at approximately 1630 hours, the Alaska State Troopers stopped a vehicle in Soldotna for an equipment violation. One of the passengers was identified as William Coleman, age 25 or Soldotna. Coleman was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Violation of Conditions of Release with the original charge of Misconduct involving a Substance in the Fourth Degree. Coleman was remanded to Wildwood pretrial on $2500 bail.

On March 25, 2026, at approximately 2240 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ultimately ended after a successful Pursuit Intervention Technique was utilized. The driver and sole occupant, Jaxson Nunley (20 y/o), of Nikiski, was arrested and remanded at Wildwood Correctional Complex for Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer as well as No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.

On March 21, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers arrested 23-year-old Ivan Kakoona, of Brevig Mission, after receiving numerous tips and conducting a thorough investigation into his conduct of sexual abuse of a minor. Kakoona was charged with the following.
Three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 2nd Degree
One count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 3rd Degree
Seven counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
Seven counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
Seven counts of Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material
One count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree
Seven counts of Unlawful Contact

On 03/20/26 AST conducted a traffic stop on a white, Ford F150 near the northbound weigh stations on the Richardson Hwy. The driver, David Compton, had a revoked license with a prior conviction in 2025, and stated he did not have insurance. He was issued 2 summons and one citation for speed.

On March 22, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a verbal disturbance between Dustyn Morgan and Angeline Custer. Following an investigation, Troopers determined that Angeline was violating conditions prohibiting alcohol consumption and was in possession of a firearm. Charges for VCOR and MIW4 were forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

On March 26, 2026, at approximeatly 1058 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of condition of release violations. Investigation revealed that Claire Organek, 23YOA of Fairbanks, violated her conditions of release. Claire was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 3/25/26, at 1545 hours, Allen Agnes Jr age 22 of Tetlin was arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Fairbanks Court. (Review 4FA-25-671 CR) Agnes was arrested without incident by the Tok VPSO. Agnes was transported to the Tok Court where he was able to bail out and given a new court date. After Agnes was release by the court he was transported back to Tetlin.

On 3/26/26 at approximately 1500 hours, a homeowner on Silver Street in North Pole reported that two unknown men drove into his driveway with fuel jugs and stole 15 gallons of fuel from his fuel tank. The Mulchatna Caribou Herd has been closed for several years due to low numbers. AWT is dedicated to protecting and growing the Mulchatna Caribou Herd as this is a valuable subsistence resource for the region and hunting them while numbers are low could mean delayed recovery of the herd.
