On 03/29/2024, Court Services Officers assigned to Palmer Judicial Services arrested Bruce N Hess, age 61 from Palmer. Hess had two active warrants for his arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference hearing on 03/26/24. Hess was remanded to Mat Su Pretrial.

On 03/29/24 at approximately 1445 hours, Court Service Officers with Palmer Judicial Services arrested Elijah Cruthers, age 27, of Palmer for an outstanding arrest warrant for Promoting Contraband in the First Degree, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third, Fourth and Fifth Degree. Cruthers was served with the warrant while in-custody at the Spring Creek Correctional Center on unrelated charges. Bail was set at $500 cash appearance.

On 03/29/2024 at approximately 0000 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet Cobalt on Church Road near That Road for speeding. Investigation determined the driver, Richmond Orem, age 42 of North Pole knowingly attached the improper plates to the vehicle. Orem was issued an AUC with a mandatory court date and released. The plates were removed and returned to the DMV.

On March 26, 2024, Alaska State Troopers responded to Big Lake for the report of a missing person. A preliminary investigation revealed Richard Proveaux, age 40 of Wasilla, went missing under suspicious circumstances. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation South-Central Major Crimes Unit responded. Their investigation determined Proveaux was murdered on his property and then his remains were hidden nearby. ABI identified the suspect as James Milton Simpson, age 40 of Wasilla. On March 29, 2024, the Alaska State Troopers obtained an arrest warrant for Simpson for the original charges of Murder in the 1st Degree and Murder in the 2nd Degree. In cooperation with the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, Simpson was contacted and arrested without incident in Big Lake. Simpson was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer and held on $100,000 cash-only bail.

On 3/29/2024 at approximately 1845 hours AST was dispatched to Wasilla in reference to a damage to property. Investigations revealed that Benjamin Benton YOA 39 of Wasilla committed the crime of DV Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree. Benjamin was arrested and remanded at Matsu Pre-Trial where he was held on no bail.

On the morning of March 29, 2024, Troopers stopped out with a vehicle parked in the area of Peger and Davis. Investigation revealed that 17yo JC had a warrant for his arrest and had committed the crime of Misconduct Involving Weapons.
