    On May 8th, 2024, at approximately 2339 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a robbery on the Palmer Wasilla Highway. Investigation revealed, an employee at Big Valley Bingo, Jeremy McMillan, age 36 of Wasilla, targeted a winner and followed them back to their residence and used physical force, stealing their purse and approximately 1500 dollars in cash. AST located Jeremy and his girlfriend, Alexandria Oberholtzer, age 34 of Wasilla, at their residence. Jeremy was arrested for Robbery 2nd, Theft 2nd, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Alexandria was arrested as an accessory for the same crimes. AST would like to thank the Wasilla Police Department for their assistance.

    On 05/04/24 at approximately 15:43 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a fire in Selawik. The flames spread through the old Native store and clinic, but were quickly extinguished. No distinct starting point of the fire has been detected, and there are no possible ignition sources. It is believed to have been set intentionally. This case has been closed by investigation as a Criminally Negligent Burning in the 2nd Degree.

    Type: Felony Elude, Vehicle Theft1

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 9th 2024, at about 2120, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a dirt bike for traveling 84 mph in a 50 mph zone in the area of Farmers Loop. The dirt bike failed to yield to Troopers and after a 3-mile pursuit, the dirt bike came to a dead end and ended without incident. The driver, Eric Morris, was arrested for Felony Eluding, Vehicle theft, and Improper use of a registration plate. Eric was transported to FCC on two Felony charges. The stolen dirt bike was returned to the rightful owner.

    On May 9th, 2024, at approximately 0020 hours, AST contacted a female in the area of Loose Moose Loop. The female was identified as Cecilia Long, age 22 of Fairbanks. Cecilia was arrested and remanded to FCC on a probation violation.

    On May 9th, 2024 the Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU) in Fairbanks identified 2 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants in the Fairbanks area. These individuals were identified as Daniel Schwietert, 23, of Anchorage and Kade Musser, 20, of Fairbanks. 

    Schwietert had an outstanding $5000 felony arrest warrant for Probation Violation on the original charge of Vehicle Theft 1st Degree (ref. 4FA-20-03754CR).

    Musser had an outstanding $2500 misdemeanor arrest warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference Hearing on the original charge of Assault 4th Degree and Criminal Mischief 5th Degree (ref. 4FA-23-01117CR).

    CSU and other AST members began surveillance operations with the assistance of Helo 2 and at approximately 1600 hours located Schwietert and Musser in a vehicle at the Chena Small Tracts Transfer Site. CSU and the other AST members then performed a takedown on Schwietert and Musser inside their vehicle. Schwietert and Musser were safely taken into custody after a third occupant fled from the vehicle on foot. The third person was not identified by Schwietert or Musser.
