  On 03/04/2026 at approximately 2211 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped out with a vehicle in the roadway with its hazard lights on, on Beverly Lakes Road, Wasilla. Investigation revealed the occupants had warrants for their arrest. Catherine Jones, 38 of Palmer, had a warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Making a False Report in the amount of $250. Additionally, Sandra Worster, 35 of Sutton, had warrants for Failure to Comply with Conditions of Release on the original charge of MICS 4th and MIW 3rd in the amount of $1,000 and Failure to Appear on the original charge of Hit & Run in the amount of $50. Both were arrested without incident and remanded to Matsu Pretrial.

  On 03/05/2026 at approximately 1527 hours, AST responded to a residence near Horizon off KGB and contacted Salinda Sims, 50 YOA. The following investigation revealed that Salinda had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Salinda was arrested and remanded to MSPT without incident, and she was held on $500.00 bail.

  On 3/5/26 at approximately 0142 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Little Fox Trail, in Fairbanks.  Following investigation, Dawson Cignarella, age 26, was arrested for Criminal Mischief 5.  Cignarella was remanded to FCC without incident.

  On 2/27/2026, at 2006 hours, Troopers stopped a Crown Victoria at Airport and Wilber for a Traffic violation the plate displayed did not belong to the vehicle. The driver Adam Brilinski was cited and released.

  On 03/04/2026 at approximately 0922 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a REDDI out of the Northway area. The report described Curtis P. Sam, age 38, seen with a beer in hand and allegedly had been drinking the night before. AST patrolled the Alaska Highway and located Sam operating his silver 2008 Ford Escape. It was known to AST that Sam does not possess a valid driver's license, and a traffic stop was initiated. Subsequent investigation resulted in Sam being placed under arrest for a second DUI. Sam was ultimately transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center and held on a $500.00 Dollar bail.

  On 03/01/26 at approximately 00:03 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevorlet pickup for an equipment violation.  The driver Christopher Lacombe, age 38, was found to be in possession of a white crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Charges are to be forwarded to to the District Attorney's Office pending lab results.

  On 03/05/2026 at approximately 0029 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on white pickup in North Pole. Investigation revealed William Sheperd, 32 YOA, was driving in violation of his restricted license. Shepherd was issued a summons and released.

  UPDATE 3/12: The State Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the human remains recovered from the fire as 23-year-old Trevor Savetilik. His next-of-kin were notified. The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is ongoing.

  UPDATE, 3/5/26: Troopers and a Deputy Fire Marshal responded to Koyuk to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. Trevor Savetilik, 23, remains unaccounted for. Investigators recovered human remains from the scene and will transport them to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification. The investigation is ongoing, but there were no immediate signs of foul play.

  ORIGINAL: On March 4, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received a report around 6:05 a.m. of a residential fire in Koyuk. Three residents got out of the home and did not report any injuries, but one adult male remains unaccounted for. Troopers and a Deputy Fire Marshal are responding to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.
