On 4/13/26 at 1623 hours, Troopers responded to a REDDI report near mile 162 of the Sterling Highway. The REDDI vehicle was located and stopped at mile 159 Sterling Highway. The driver was contacted and identified as Linda Bischoff, 72 of Anchor Point. An investigation showed Bischoff was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. On 4/13/2026, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point conducted a traffic stop on an ATV driving on the Sterling Highway. Subsequent investigation determined the driver, Dennis Sullivan (57 years old) was driving under the influence. Dennis was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on 1x count each of DUI, Refusal to submit to a chemical test, and Driving while license revoked.

On 4/13/2026 at approximately 1112 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a silver 2011 Toyota SUV driving erratically on Kenai Spur Road and on the Sterling Highway. It was reported to be driving in and out of its lane and hitting curbs. The vehicle was contacted pulling into a residence in Soldotna. Eric Joseph Doucet, age 38 of Soldotna, was identified as the driver. Investigation revealed Doucet had been driving the vehicle while impaired and under the influence. Doucet was arrested for DUI and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

Investigation resulted in a 17 year old male being issued criminal citations for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Immediate Notice of Accident.

On 4/13/26 at approximately 0017 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Saturn near Lucille and Nelson in Wasilla for a moving violation. Investigation revealed the passenger Sierra Brown age 23 of Wasilla, had two outstanding warrants out for her arrest and provided false ID to AST. She was arrested, transported and remanded to MSPT in Palmer.

On 4/13/2026 at approximately 1420 hours, Palmer Courthouse staff requested assistance from Palmer Judicial Services in Courtroom 7 for an out-of-custody remand. At the conclusion of a change of plea hearing in case 3PA-25-02238CR, Dante Nicolai Merculief, age 25 of Homer, was arrested by Court Services Officers. Merculief pled guilty to one count of Assault in the Third Degree (recidivism); the remaining charges were dismissed. He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility to serve 24 months with 20 months suspended.

In March of 2026, the Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team (FANT) opened an investigation into Elizabeth Spurgeon, 49 years old of Fairbanks, who was suspected of selling methamphetamine in the Fairbanks area. On April 3, 2026, FANT and Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Spurgeon’s vehicle in the Healy area as she was traveling back to Fairbanks. A search of the vehicle located 2.32 kilograms of methamphetamine being transported from the MatSu area to Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Spurgeon and her passenger, Robert Gentleman, 47 years old of Fairbanks, were traveling back to Fairbanks after getting the drugs from the MatSu area. The street value of the drugs in their possession is approximately $46,000 in the Fairbanks area. Troopers arrested both Spurgeon and Gentleman. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE 4/13: On March 10, 2026, Joseph Kameroff pleaded guilty to Taking Muskox Closed Season (Count 1) and Wanton Waste of Big Game (Count 2). As part of a plea agreement, the charges of Using Artificial Light to Take Big Game and Taking Game Using a Motorized Vehicle were dismissed.
Kameroff was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 173 days suspended. He was fined $3,000 for Count 1 and $10,000, with $7,500 suspended, for Count 2. His hunting privileges were revoked for two years, and he was placed on two years of probation.ORIGINAL: On January 31, 2026, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Bethel received a report of a dead muskox outside of Lower Kalskag. The area in and around Lower Kalskag (Game Management Unit (GMU) 19) has no open season for muskox, and initial reports indicated the muskox had not been salvaged.
Wildlife Troopers responded and investigated the scene. Troopers determined that the muskox was shot illegally, and no efforts were made to salvage any of the meat. Through the service of search warrants and interviews Troopers determined 42-year-old Lower Kalskag resident Joseph Kameroff killed the muskox. Kameroff was arrested and remanded to Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center on a probation violation as well as new charges of Taking Muskox Closed Season, Wanton Waste of Big Game, Using Artificial Light to Take Big Game, and Taking Game Using a Motorized Vehicle. We appreciate all of the information provided by the residents of Lower Kalskag that has aided our investigation.

On 4/13/26 at approximately 1620 hours, Anchorage Court Service Officers were conducting a routine security Patrol of the Anchorage Court campus when they were notified by front door security of an individual with an arrest warrant. Officers made contact with the male identified as Joshua Cremonese, 35, of Anchorage, and took him into custody without incident and remanded him to the Anchorage Jail.
