On 2/26/2026 at approximately 0630 hours AST was notified of a disturbance in Palmer. Investigation revealed a male Ernest Rogers had 2 warrants for his arrest for a Violation of conditions of Probation and a Parole Violation Warrant. He was arrested without incident and held on no bail.

On 02/26/2026 at approximately 0740 hours, AST received a request to serve a notice of hearing on Jacob Waibel, 25 YOA. Investigation revealed that there was an outstanding warrant for Jabob’s arrest for Failure to Appear, with an original Charge of Assault 4. AST contacted Jacob at his residence, and he was subsequently placed under arrest for his warrant. He was transported to MSPT, where he was remanded and held on $750.00 bail.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that no one was at the residence or on the property. On February 25th, 2026, at approximately 2112 hours, AST received a report of a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of Trunk Rd and N Birch Forest Drive. AST responded and contacted 24 Year-old Casey Cooper of Palmer. Investigation revealed that Casey had been driving under the influence. Casey was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for DUI and Refusal to submit to Chemical Testing.

On 02/25/2026 at 1333 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a truck pulling a goose neck trailer which was involved in a collision near Mile 210 Parks Highway. Investigation determined Gerald Michel, age 54 from Anchorage lost control of his truck and trailer, causing the trailer to jackknife and strike the truck. Both the truck and trailer received disabling damage. No other vehicles were damaged. The driver was issued a citation following the collision.

On February 26, 2026, at 2:31 am, Fairbanks AST received a report that Isaiah Pitka, age 22, had assaulted his girlfriend and shot into the ceiling, placing an additional person at the residence in fear of being killed. Pitka then fled the residence. Pitka was located outside an adjacent property and then fled inside and refused to exit. Northern SWAT responded to the scene and was able to arrest Pitka after a brief standoff. Pitka was arrested for an outstanding $25,000 warrant and Assault III. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

On February 26th, 2026 at approximately 2200 hours, Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Chena Pump Road. Investigation revealed Timothy Lohse, age 45 of Eagle River, was operating a vehicle while impaired. Timothy was arrested and remanded to FCC.

On 02/25/2026 at approximately 1545 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team contacted Tony Chulin, age 35 of Wasilla, at a residence in the Williwaw Subdivision in Wasilla. Chulin had an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While License Revoked. Chulin was arrested and remanded to MAT-SU Pretrial where he was held on a $500 bail.

On 02/25/2025 at approximately 1345 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a red Ford Taurus on Big Lake Road for a seatbelt violation. The passenger was identified as Melissa Hofbauer, age 49 of Trapper Creek, who had an active arrest warrant for Assault 3rd Degree. Hofbauer was arrested and remanded to MAT-SU Pretrial where she was held with no bail pending a court date.
