    Location: Soldotna
    Type: MICS, Theft 2

    Dispatch Text:

    On April 9, 2026, at approximately 0152 hours, AST parked behind a vehicle at a Soldotna gas station. The passenger of the vehicle was slumped over with tin foil and fentanyl in his lap. Investigation resulted in Kyle Cooper, age 35 of Anchorage, was in possession of fentanyl and suboxone and two identification cards. The driver of the vehicle, Cody Meyer, age 29 of Big Lake, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and four stolen debit cards. Cooper was arrested for two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree and two counts of Theft 2. Meyer was arrested for four counts of Theft 2 and one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree. Both parties were remanded at Wildwood Correctional Complex without bail.

    On 4/9/2026 at approximately 1052 hours, Palmer Courthouse staff requested assistance from Palmer Judicial Services in Courtroom 2 for an out-of-custody remand. Leonard A. Knight Jr., age 35, of Anchorage, was arrested by Court Services Officers at the conclusion of an evidentiary hearing in 3PA-23-01336CR. Knight was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with no bail pending sentencing.

    Dispatch Text:

    On April 9th, 2026, at approximately 0124 hours, AST responded to a disturbance in the Williwaw neighborhood. Upon arrival, AST contacted 21-year-old Teerri Christensen and determined she had assaulted a household member. Teerri was placed under arrest for Assault IV DV and Violating the Conditions of her Release. Teerri was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial without bail.

    On 04/09/2026 at approximately 0519 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in North Pole for a report of a death. Investigation revealed Steven Colburn, 68 YOA, had died of natural causes. Colburn's family was on-scene and notified of his passing. No foul play is suspected.

    Location: Fairbanks

    Advisory Text:

    Law enforcement in Fairbanks responded to a recent swatting call at Randy Smith Middle School in Fairbanks. Alaska State Troopers and our other law enforcement partners responded to the school to conduct a thorough investigation and determined that there was no threat to the students at the school.

    At approximately 1030 hours on 09 April 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to Homer Drive for a disturbance.  Investigation revealed that a domestic disturbance occurred at the residence.  Charges are being forwarded to the DA's office.

    On 04/09/26 at approximately 0830 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a domestic violence assault involving a female victim and Sebastien Ahyakak-Clerc. The victim reported that Ahyakak-Clerc had whipped her with a rope during a dispute. He was later located at 1650 Luke St. and remanded for DVA4.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Type: Driving Under the Influence

    Dispatch Text:

    On Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Christopher Chezik, age 44, from Soldotna near the Kasilof River Beach State Campground.  The investigation revealed Chezik was operating his 2017 Chevrolet Sonic when he drove off the roadway and became stuck in the snow and ice.  Chezik performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he failed.  Chezik was subsequently arrested and remanded to the Wildwood Pre-Trial Correctional Center for one count of Driving Under the Influence.

    On 04/08/2026 at approximately 1446 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a blue Dodge pickup for an equipment violation near the Parks Highway and Meadow Lakes Loop intersection. The driver and passenger were identified as Bobby Blake and Catherine Gessells. During the stop, methamphetamine was located within the vehicle. Based on the investigation, both parties were charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 5th Degree.

AK Div of Fire and Life Safety

    Dispatch Text:

    On April 8, 2026, at 9:37 am, Soldotna Dispatch received a report that an electric vehicle (EV) charger had caught fire in Cooper Landing. Cooper Landing Fire responded and was able to contain the fire. Initial investigation revealed that a decommissioned EV charger had caught fire and severely damaged a nearby structure and a large industrial generator. State Fire Marshals are currently responding to the scene for further investigation.
