    On 07/12/2025 at approximately 1421, Alaska State Troopers came into contact with Sean Lewis, age 26, of Soldotna, at the Tesoro in Big Lake. Investigation revealed that Sean had been operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Sean was arrested for DUI and remanded to MatSu pretrial. Sean is being held on $500 cash bail.

    On 7/12/2025 at approximately 1055 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a call informing them that Darryn Lee (29YOA) had left his appointed meeting place per his release conditions.  While investigating, Darryn removed his electronic monitoring device.  Troopers quickly located Darryn and placed him under arrest for violating conditions of his release and escape in the 3rd degree.  He was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial and held per the bail schedule.

    On 7/11/2025 at approximately 2137 hours WPD and AST were in a vehicle pursuit of a stolen vehicle in the area of Fred Meyers in Wasilla that went towards Anchorage.  WPD lost sight of the vehicle in the area of Birchwood traveling south on the Glenn Hwy.  AST then again located the vehicle which was a Marron F350 on Muldoon around the Tikahtnu Mall, and the vehicle almost stuck an AST patrol vehicle head on.  AST then began a pursuit with the vehicle in Anchorage but eventually had to discontinue it.  If anybody in the public was at risk of injury from the driver’s behavior or could have information on who the driver and occupants are they are encouraged to reach out to MATCOM and request to be contacted by Trooper Haley.

    On 7/12/2025 at approximately 0100 hours, AST responded to Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. An investigation revealed that Lacie Maulding assaulted household members. Troopers arrested Lacie Maulding for Assault in the Fourth Degree x2, and Assault in the presence of a child. Lacie was remanded to Mat-Su pre-trial where she was held without bail.

    On July 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30pm, Alaska State Troopers in Nome arrested Barret Eningowuk age 38 of Shishmaref for DUI. Eningowuk is a Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO). AST determined that Eningowuk was off duty during the incident and was operating a VPSO patrol vehicle in Nome while intoxicated. Eningowuk was arrested, issued a summons and conditions of release, and released on his own recognizance.

    On July 11, 2025, at 5:30pm, Alaska State Troopers in Galena were notified of a female who had gone into the Yukon River near Galena and was not seen again. Troopers responded and had local resources mobilized by 6:00pm. Investigation determined that 33-year-old Marie Sheldon of Galena had been sitting on a decommissioned barge when she fell into the Yukon River. At 7:15 Sheldon's body was found deceased in approximately 8 feet of water. Her remains are being sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office. Next of Kin has been notified.

    On 07/12/2025, AST received a report of an intoxicated female driver at Justa store. Ast arrived and found the individual passed out in the driver's seat, with the vehicle running and in gear. Troopers made contact, and she refused to roll down her window. Eventually, she rolled the window down, and a strong odor of alcohol was present. Troopers were able to remove her from the vehicle. She was identified as Marissa Hautala. She refused to conduct SFSTs, spit on a Trooper, and refused to provide a breath sample. She was remanded to FCC for DUI, harassment in the first degree, and failure to provide a breath sample.

    On July 2, 2025, Jennifer M Beck 41 years old and John E Spangler 77 years old both from Auburn, Washington were cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers during the Bristol Bay Salmon Enforcement Program for Commercial Fish Closed Waters in the Naknek Kvichak District.  Arraignment is scheduled in Naknek District Court on August 6, 2025.

    On 7/12/25, Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Mark Bundy, age 41 of Anchorage for violating Chitina Dipnet Permit Conditions.  Investigation revealed Bundy was releasing his dipnet into the water, and dragging it and recovering it with a rope while drifting in a vessel as opposed to operating it in a manner conforming to it's basic design by operating it by hand using the attached handle.

    On July 11, 2025, Frederick W Crothamel, 35 years old from Mercer Island, Washington was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers during the Bristol Bay Salmon Enforcement Program in the Naknek-Kvichak District for Employing Unlicensed Crewmember 31-year-old Mitchell M Landry from Wasilla, Alaska.  Bail is set at $250 for both offenses in the Naknek District Court.
