  On 01/16/2026, AST Dispatch received a report of a disturbance in Palmer. AST responded to the scene, and an investigation revealed that Cory Thingstad, aged 48 of Palmer, had assaulted a household member and damaged shared property. Cory was arrested, transported, and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for DV Assault 4 and Criminal Mischief 5.

  On 01/16/2026 at approximately 0630 hours Troopers responded to a school bus in the ditch blocking traffic near mile 112 of the Richardson Highway. The driver was the only occupant and not injured. Troopers and VPSO's provided traffic control until the bus was safely removed from the roadway.

  On 01/16/2026 at approximately 0836 hours a Trooper responded to an MVC near mile 187 of the Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed there was no injuries. One vehicle lost control on the icy roadway, resulting in a collision. Both parties exchanged information. One vehicle was in the ditch but safely removed.

  On 01/12/2026 Selawik State based Alaska State Troopers received a report of a stolen 550 RMK Polaris on 12/31/2025. The vehicle was found after sightings were reported on Facebook of a juvenile operating it. Charges are pending.

  On 01/12/2026 at approximately 09:00 hours Unalakleet based Alaska State Troopers received a report that their window was broken during an altercation. State Troopers contacted VPO's to respond and during investigation they were able to determine who broke the window. One count of Crim Misc 5 is being forwarded to the DAO and a summons was requested.

  At approximately 0043 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported disturbance at a residence near Woodridge Street in Fairbanks. Troopers contacted the involved individuals and conducted an on-scene investigation. Concluding the investigation, Troopers arrested Gregory Furr and he was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree.

  On 01/16/2026 at approximately 0058 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a VID on Nordale Road in North Pole. Investigation revealed Arther Chesley, 45 YOA, was operating the vehicle while impaired by an impairing substance. Chesley was arrested and remanded to FCC on one count of DUI.

  On 01/16/2026 at approximately 1433 hours AST responded to Parks Highway mile 305 for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. Investigation showed the driver Jonathan Pitka, age 37 of Nenana, was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Jonathan was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Driving with a Cancelled License. He was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was held on bail.

  On 01/16/2026, at approximately 1616 hours, Troopers were notified of a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hurst & Nelson Roads in North Pole. North Pole Fire Department and AWT responded. All occupants of both vehicles were transported to FMH for their injuries. The crash is under investigation.
