On December 19 2025, at approximately 1225 hours, State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Travelling North on Port St. Nicholas Rd. State Troopers located Curtis Demmert (40M of Klawock) in the back of the vehicle. Curtis was known to the on-scene Troopers as being an absconder from justice and subsequently arrested. A search incident to arrest of Curtis's person revealed multiple bags of suspected (and professed) illicit substance. Curtis was remanded to Craig Jail pursuant to the outstanding arrest warrant and Multiple Probation Violations and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the Fourth Degree (x2).

UPDATE: Kevin Hunter has been arrested. Thank you for your assistance.
ORIGINAL: The Alaska State Troopers are actively seeking 31-year-old Kevin Hunter. Kevin Hunter is wanted for allegedly sexually abusing multiple juveniles. On December 17, 2025, a Kenai grand jury indicted Hunter, and subsequently, a judge issued an arrest warrant for him. Hunter was last seen this week at a residence in Kenai and is believed to still be on the Kenai Peninsula.

On 12/12/2025, at approximately 1355 hours, AST in Anchor Point received a report of a protective order violation. Investigation revealed that Calvin George, 47, of Port Graham, violated a protective order when he sent mail to the petitioner. On 12/18/2025, Calvin was arrested and transported to Homer Jail without incident.

On 12/19/2025, at approximately 0345 hours, Soldotna dispatch received a report of a structure fire located on Basargin Rd. in Razdolna. Investigation revealed that the fire initiated in the sauna and spread to the residence. No one was inside and nothing suspicious was observed by the firefighters who were on scene.

On 12/19/2025 at approximately 0026 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a REDDI report on the Parks Highway. Following the investigation, Kliment Basargin, age 18 of Homer, was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su pretrial for DUI and minor operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol. Basargin was held on an OR bail per the Alaska bail schedule.

On 12/18/25 at approximately 1620 hours Palmer AST responded to a disturbance at a residence on Desiree Cir in Wasilla. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Jason Deemer, age 49 of Wasilla, for DV Assault 4th Degree and Unlawful Contact 2nd Degree. Deemer was transported to Mat Su Pretrial and remanded where he was held without bail.

On 12/18/25 at approximately 2100 hours Palmer AST responded to an address on Pass The Buck Cir in Palmer where they contacted Deshawn Williams, age 40 of Tuluksak. Investigation revealed Williams had 4 outstanding warrants for his arrest for failing to appear, original charge of Violating Conditions of Release (3AN-25-03787), failing to appear, original charge of Harassment (3AN-25-03376), failing to appear, original charge of Unlawful Contact (3AN-25-03520). These 3 warrants were all no bail. The 4th warrant, failure to appear, original charge of Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct and Assault on a Police Officer (3PA-24-01946) had a $250 bail. Williams was arrested without incident and remanded at Mat Su Pretrial where he was held without bail.

On 12/19/2025 at approximately 1232 hours, Alaska State Troopers were assisting a pedestrian who appeared to be in need of assistance and was under dressed for the below -40’s F in the Tok area. Investigation revealed a disturbance occurred the night before (12/18/2025) and a current ongoing violation of conditions issue pertaining to Angie L. David, age 41, stemming from an open court case 4TO-25-00076CR. David was contacted at her residence with copious amounts of alcohol beverages present all throughout the residence. David exhibited slurred speech and refused to comply with a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT). David is prohibited from consumption and possession of alcohol as well as required to comply with a PBT upon reasonable suspicion. David was placed under arrest and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center and held on a $1,000.00 dollar bail.

On 11/29/2025, Fairbanks AWT contacted Jason Sorensen, age 49 of Anchorage, during a patrol of the RC867 caribou hunt. During the contact, Troopers discovered Sorensen had unlawfully harvested a cow caribou during the bull only hunt. Sorensen was issued an AUC with a mandatory court appearance. On Dec. 17, 2025, Investigators with the Alaska Bureau of Investigation Major Crimes Unit conducted sex-offender registration checks as part of an ongoing operation. They contacted 44-year-old Dianna Steger and determined she had been noncompliant for several years. Steger was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on charges of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender/Child Kidnapper and Perjury. During the operation, Investigators have conducted at least 54 sex offender registration checks, which to-date has resulted in eight arrests relating to Failure to Register as a Sex Offender/Child Kidnapper and led to several open investigations. The operation is ongoing.
