Location: Cooper LandingType: Burglary InvestigationDispatch Text:
Final Update: On December 31, 2024, at 5:16pm, Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call that a family returned to a seasonal cabin located in Cooper Landing and found a male sleeping inside. There have been, at least, 5 different burglaries reported in the Cooper Landing area over the last several weeks and the suspect matched photos taken from a game trail camera from a previously reported burglary. AST and US Fish and Wildlife Service responded, with drones, to locate the suspect, Troy Holzheimer, age 46 of Homer. Although a track in the snow was successful, the suspect had travelled a vast distance down Kenai Lake beach towards Crown Point. The track was called off due to a lack resources and available light. On January 1, 2025, AST and AWT responded to the area via boat and helicopter. Holzheimer was subsequently located southwest of Porcupine Island, which was approximately 8 miles from the burgled residence, and he surrendered without incident. Holzheimer was arrested and charged with 5 counts of Burglary in the First Degree, 4 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree and 5 counts of Theft in the Forth Degree. Further charges are expected as more property owners discover the extent of his criminal activity in the region. Holzheimer is currently being held without bail at Spring Creek Correctional Center.
Update: The Alaska State Troopers have taken a suspect into custody for this incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Troopers request that Cooper Landing residents be vigilant and not pick up any hitchhikers in the area. On December 30th, 2024 the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a call about an assault that had occurred early in the morning in the village of Nanwalek. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Marcus Wilson, age 22 of Nanwalek, for one count of DV Assault in the 3rd Degree, one count of DV Assault in the 4th Degree, and one count of Reckless Endangerment.

On 12/30/2024, an anonymous caller reported a possible disturbance that had recently occurred in the area of the Old Sterling highway, Anchor Point. Subsequent investigation determined Rosmarie Buchman (age 41), had assaulted her boyfriend. Rosemarie was remanded at Homer Jail on 1x count each of Assault 3 and Assault 4

On 12/30/2024, at approximately 1831 hours, AST received a report of a head-on collision near KGB Road and Clapp. Investigation revealed that one of the drivers identified as Ashley Dewsnup was operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Ashely was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where she was released on her own recognizance. Minor injuries were reported during AST’s investigation into the collision.

On 12/30/2024 at approximately 1644 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding a motor vehicle collision at Pittman and Parks Highway. AST contacted an involved driver, Ruby Reimann. Investigation revealed Ruby was under the influence of a controlled substance. She was placed under arrest for DUI. A search warrant was requested and granted for blood to be drawn and tested for controlled substances. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial with $500 cash appearance bail.

On 12/31/2024 at approximately 1023 hours, Alaska State Troopers and Wasilla PD were looking for a vehicle that had eluded Anchorage Police and was last seen driving towards the Mat-Su Valley. Wasilla PD located the vehicle in Wasilla and the vehicle failed to yield, heading south back towards Anchorage. Troopers were requested to assist and deployed tire deflation devices on the Glenn Hwy near the Knik River, which successfully struck the suspect vehicle's tires. The pursuit ended in Chugiak near N. Peter's Creek and the suspects were apprehended. Wasilla Police Department has case responsibility.

On 12/31/2024 at approximately 1342 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Triple B Street in Wasilla for a domestic disturbance. Investigation led to the arrest of Jalyn Blum, age 31 of Wasilla, for Assault II DV and Assault IV DV. Blum was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

On December 31, 2024, at approximately 11:32 PM, a traffic stop was conducted on a white Toyota sedan without a front right headlight. Investigation showed the driver, Cameron Sims, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Facility.

On 12/31/2024 at approximately 0355 hours Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision at the Chena flood control overpass on the Richardson Highway. The driver began swerving after hitting an ice patch, overcorrected, and ran into the guard rail. The vehicle had disabling damage, and the guard rail was damaged. The driver sustained minor injuries and the vehicle was towed.

On 12/31/2024 a Trooper was on routine patrol and identified Gregory Williams at the Circle K on Peger Road. The Trooper confirmed Williams had an active warrant for his arrest. Williams was arrested at 0609 hours without incident and transported to FCC.

On 12/31/2024 at about 2141 hours, Alaska State Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a truck for speeding on a red Nissan Pathfinder near mile 247 of the Parks Hwy in Healy. Investigation determined the driver, SCOTT HANNOLD (age 41 of Healy) was driving under the influence of alcohol. HANNOLD was arrested for DUI, processed for DUI and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center with bail set at $500 per the Statewide Bail Schedule.
