On April 11th, 2026 at approximately 1620 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a call about a single vehicle rollover near mile 138 of the Sterling Highway, in Ninilchik. AST and EMS responded to the scene. The driver, and the three juvenile passengers had sustained minor injuries. Subsequent investigation resulted in Stormy Walkoff, age 34 of Ninilchik, being arrested and charged with one count of DUI, one count of Reckless Driving, three counts of Reckless Endangerment, and two violations of Failure to Properly Secure Child in Child Restraint Device. Stormy showed a breath alcohol content (BrAC) of .257 at approximately 1820 hours. Stormy was transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

On 4/11/26, at approximately 0930 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted James Acker, age 28, of Ketchikan, on a property near Fireside Court. Acker had an active arrest warrant for failure to comply with conditions of release. Acker was arrested and remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center for his warrant and held on a $500 bail.

On April 9, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that a written threat of a school shooting was located at Skyview Middle School. Troopers responded and investigated the threat. A juvenile student was determined to be responsible for the threat. The student was arrested by Troopers on felony charges of Terroristic Threatening in the Second Degree and was remanded to Kenai Youth Facility.

On 4/11/2026 at approximately 1200 hours, Donald Edenshaw, age 29 of Hydaburg was located walking in Hydaburg. Donald was known to have a warrant for his arrest. A records check confirmed Donald had an outstanding warrant for his arrest with time to serve. Donald was arrested without incident and was transported to the Craig Jail where he was remanded.

On April 9, 2026, at approximately 1710 hours Alaska State Trooper Dispatch received multiple REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) reports on a white Chevy Equinox at Mile 37 Sterling Hwy driving south. The REDDI reports indicated extremely dangerous driving, including several near misses of head on collisions with other cars, failure to maintain lane, and coming to abrupt stops. One of the REDDI callers reported fearing for their life from a near miss caused by the vehicle. Troopers from Soldotna and Seward responded and stopped the vehicle at mile 67.5 Sterling Hwy. After an investigation into the driver, Anna Summers, age 42 of Eagle River, it was determined she was impaired by controlled substances and arrested for Driving Under the Influence. A warrant was obtained for her blood to be tested for controlled substances. She was then remanded to Wildwood Pretrial for DUI and Assault 3 and held without bail.

On 04/11/2026, AST Dispatch received a report of a disturbance in Wasilla. Troopers responded to the scene, and an investigation revealed that Shawn Yeager, aged 48 of Wasilla, had assaulted a household member. Shawn was arrested, transported, and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

The investigation led AST to arrest Patrick Kelley for two counts of Assault in the 4th Degree DV. On 4/11/2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting that GREGORY SMITH had caused significant damage in a Wasilla apartment building. The investigation revealed that Smith had committed Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and had barricaded himself inside his unit. AST took Smith into custody, and he was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial with no bail on a charge of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

On 04/10/2026 at approximately 1552 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of suspicious circumstances at a residence off E. 2nd Ave. in Tok. Fairbanks Dispatch advised the complainant, Marie Y. Easton, reported ripping off her brother’s toenail. Investigation revealed that Marie and Shane P. Gunter were heavily intoxicated. While carrying out a welfare check on the two their demeanor shifted and both parties exhibited aggression towards AST. Gunter was arrested for Assault (III and IV) on a Police Officer x2. A further check was conducted of Gunter’s history, and he has numerous prior convictions, and it was elevated to a felony. Easton was arrested for Assault (IV) on a Police Officer, Harassment I and Interfering with Arrest. Both parties were taken to the Upper Tanana Health Center and medically cleared for transport. Both Parties were remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center. Gunter was held on no bail and Easton was held on $500.00 dollar bail.

On 04/10/2025 at approximately 2303 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop for speeding near MP 355 Richardson Highway. Investigation revealed the driver, Peter Saunders 53 YOA, was driving when his AK driver's license was suspended. Saunders was issued a summons for DWLs AS 28.15.219(a)(2) and was released.
