On 5/25/2025, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on North Fork for an equipment violation. Subsequent investigation determined William Emmert, age 66, was driving under the influence of Alcohol. William was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail.

On 5/26/2025 at approximately 0030 hours, AST Seward observed a group of dirt bikes riding north on the Seward Highway without the necessary equipment to be street legal. AST attempted to conduct a stop on the bikes, at which point three of the four riders sped off initiating a pursuit. The riders took the pursuit towards Exit Glacier and into a neighborhood where they attempted to hide in the woods. AST, with the assistance of Seward Police Department, were able to locate and apprehend each of the riders. The group of juveniles were ultimately released to their respective parents/guardians.

On 5/25/2025, at approximately 1849 hours, Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on a Lincoln Navigator near mile 7 of the Seward Highway. The driver, Monika Howard, age 48 of Kenai, was determined to be operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license since 2020. Howard was issued a summons to appear for the offense at a later date and released to a licensed driver.

On 05/26/2025 at approximately 0154 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of stolen side by side from a residence on Snow Goose Drive in Wasilla. A suspect has been identified, and charges will be filed to the DAO.

On 05/26/2025 at approximately 0949 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop near mile 99 Parks Hwy in Talkeetna. Investigation led to the arrest of Lane Theodore, age 34 of Willow, for DWLR and VCOR. He was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $250 bail.

On 05/26/2025 at approximately 0041 hours, Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers initiated a Search & Rescue (SAR) for a missing 57-year-old female last seen picking fiddleheads on the trails near the end of Buffalo Mine Road in Palmer. Troopers, MATSAR, Solstice K-9, Alaska Search & Rescue Dogs, the Rescue Coordination Center and the Civil Air Patrol responded to assist in the search. The female was ultimately located several miles away when she arrived at a residence. No injuries were reported but she was treated for mild hypothermia symptoms. AST would like to thank all the volunteers who responded to this search.

On May 26, 2025, at approximately 0752 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the Justa Store for the report of an intoxicated person. Investigation revealed that Tristan Bandy had driven his car there while intoxicated. Tristan provided a BrAC of 0.347. Tristan was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on a charge of DUI.

On May 24, 2025, at approximately 1637 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a civil issue that developed into a disturbance near Becker Ridge Road. Troopers arrived on the scene and, after investigation, found probable cause that Kyra Jekins, age 23, had committed the crime of Criminal Trespass in the first degree. Charges have been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

On 26 May 2025, at approximately 1933 hours, AST received a call of suspicious circumstances occurring at The Red Fox Bar and Grill. AST received multiple 911 calls stating that a vehicle bearing plate LHK447 was seen speeding the parking lot of Red Fox and a woman was seen being ejected from the vehicle while it was in motion. The vehicle stopped and a black male, wearing a black ballcap with a black shirt and jeans, was seen getting out and picking up the female, and placing her back into the vehicle. The male was heard to say he was taking the female to the hospital, and they left the area. The vehicle was contacted by Troopers at the hospital and the male was identified as Eli Evans. After investigation, Evans was placed under arrest for DUI, DV assault 3, MIW4 and two counts of assault on an LEO.

On May 26, 2025, at approximately 1538 hours, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a report of a search and rescue near Friday Creek in the Knik River Valley. The complainant Wesley Smotherman called MATCOM and advised that a total of five people, including himself, were stuck in a fast-flowing creek on their ATV and could not swim to the bank because of the currant. MATCOM lost connection with Wesley and could not regain contact. RCC was requested for helicopter support and accepted the mission. RCC located party, who had made it out of the water but were wet, and transported them to Mat-Su Regional because one of the members of the party suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
