    UPDATE 8/5: On August 5, 2025, the State Medical Examiner's Office notified the Alaska State Troopers that they have identified the human remains as: 62-year-old Ninilchik resident David Meyer. Meyer had been reported missing on June 11, 2025, while kayaking in Cook Inlet. 

    ORIGINAL: On July 3, 2025 at 1030am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that a fishing charter found human remains floating in Cook Inlet near Anchor Point. Troopers responded to the area aboard the P/V Augustine and recovered the remains. The body was not identifiable and was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and positive identification.

    On 08/05/2025 at approximately 1609 hours, Troopers took a report of a Trespass at the HUB of Alaska, where 2 juveniles were refusing to leave. Upon further investigation, the 2 juveniles were formally trespassed from the HUB. Both left the property without further incident.

    On August 4, 2025, at approximately 2020 hours. The Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in Palmer for a report of a disturbance. Through a thorough investigation, it was determined that the male party had assaulted the female party and broken a personal item. Additionally, the female party drove the male party's vehicle into two parked snow machines. The male party was arrested for Assault 4 and Criminal Mischief 5, and the female party was arrested for Criminal Mischief 3. Both parties were transported to MAT-Su Pretrial and held without bail.

    Type: Terroristic Threatening

    Dispatch Text:

    On August 4, 2025, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a domestic violence assault in progress involving a man threatening his significant other. The suspect, Alex Long, was located on Chena Hot Springs Road after allegedly threatening to kill his significant other and drive her to a remote location. Based on the facts of the case, Alex Long was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threatening in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for booking without incident.

    On August 4, 2025, at approximately 2207 hours Alaska State Troopers in Tok contacted Meranda Sam, age 34 of Tetlin, in the Tok area. Investigation revealed that Sam was in violation of her conditions of release in 4TO-24-00032CR. Sam was placed under arrest for one count of Violating Conditions of Release and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was held on a $1000 bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05 August 2025, at approximately 0418 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle traveling eastbound on Holmes Rd. in North Pole. Following investigation, the driver, Sharelle Moser (29F of North Pole), was found to be impaired by an intoxicating substance. Sharelle was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center, charged with DUI, without further issue.

    On 8/5/2025, JM reported his vehicle stolen from his driveway in Fairbanks near gold stream. The vehicle was later located unoccupied at a residence on Lake Estates Drive, where Kyrie Holden was contacted. An investigation revealed Kyrie Holden was in position of the vehicle , he was arrested for Vehicle Theft in the First Degree. he was remanded to FCC.

    On 08/05/2025 at approximately 0515 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a missing runaway juvenile from their residence in Fairbanks. The Juvenile was not located and was entered as a runaway.

    On 5 August, 2025 at approximately 1430 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle traveling eastbound on Mitchell expressway in Fairbanks. Following investigation, the driver, Stewart Cleaver 22yo, was found to be impaired by alcohol.  Stewart was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center, charged with DUI, without further issue.

    Type: No Personal Use Permit In Possession

    Dispatch Text:

    On 07/29/2025, at approximately 1055 hours, AWT contacted Gary Keeling, age 56, of Big Lake while on a foot patrol of the Fish Creek Personal Use Dipnet Fishery.  Investigation revealed Keeling did not have a Personal use permit and did not appropriately mark the 25 salmon he had retained while dipnetting. Keeling was issued a citation for No Personal use Permit in Possession and the salmon were seized and donated to a family that was legally participating in the fishery.

    Type: Snagging Salmon

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/03/2025, at approximately 1521 hours, AWT contacted Trent McNamara, age 31, while he was sportfishing on Cottonwood Creek, in Wasilla. Investigation revealed McNamara had retained multiple salmon that had been hooked in a location other than the mouth.  McNamara was issued a citation for snagging and the salmon were seized and donated to charity.

    On 8-502025 at about 1330 hours, Court service officer was notified of a theft that took place over the weekend in the Boney Courthouse. Investigation revealed that known female suspect intentionally took a backpack not belonging to her and departed the area. Value of backpack and contents (cell phone, headphone and personal items) is palace at about $500. Charge of Theft in the third degree are forwarded to the Anchorage District Attorney Office.
