On 1/17/25 at approximately 2000 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Big Lake conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Lodge Drive for multiple equipment and moving violations. Investigation revealed the driver, 34-year-old Brian Taylor, had two warrants for his arrest. Troopers arrested Taylor and transported him to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was remanded.

On 1/17/24 at approximately 2235 hours Palmer AST responded to an active disturbance at a residence on Leah Circle. Investigation resulted in the arrest of John Ferrell, age 44 of Wasilla. Ferrell was transported to Mat Su Pretrial and remanded on 1 count of DUI, 1 count of DUI Refusal, 1 count of DV Criminal Mischief 5th Degree, 1 count of DV Assault 4th Degree, Endangering Welfare of a Minor 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment, and 2 counts of DV Assault in the Presence of a Child. Ferrell was held without bail pending arraignment.

On January 17, 2025, at approximately 10:01 PM, Matcom dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle collision near mile marker 31 on the Glenn Highway. Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to the scene, and their investigation revealed that the driver at fault, 35-year-old Wasilla resident Jeffrey Pack, was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Pack was arrested and taken to Matsu Pretrial, where he faces a single charge of Felony DUI. Fortunately, no one was injured in the collision.

On January 18th 2025, at about 0732 hours, Troopers responded to a single vehicle MVC where the driver was reported to be passed out behind the wheel. Upon arrival and contact with the driver, Amanda Emani, was arrested for Felony DUI and DWLR. Amanda was remanded to FCC without further incident.

On 01/17/2024 at approximately 2137 hours Troopers from Cantwell and Nenana responded to a report of a vehicle collision with two pedestrians near mile 226 Parks Hwy. Investigation showed a Northbound Chevy Silverado observed headlights in the Northbound lane or shoulder. In an effort to avoid a head on collision the driver turned into the ditch. A GMC Sierra 3500 was parked facing Southbound in the Northbound shoulder. The Chevy now traveling through the snowbank in the Northbound ditch struck two people who were in the ditch collecting debris. The pedestrians were transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. AST would like to thank Tri-Valley and McKinley Volunteer EMS for their assistance.

On 01/18/2025 at approximately 1219 hours, Troopers were notified FPD was in a pursuit. The driver was suspected DUI, and the owner of the vehicle had a warrant for her arrest. Troopers assisted and deployed successful stop sticks on the vehicle. FPD was ultimately able to apprehend the offender.

Location: WasillaType: Fatal Vehicle CollisionDispatch Text:
On January 18, 2025, at 3:39 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a vehicle collision at Vine Road and Hollywood Road in Wasilla. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Sedan was traveling eastbound on Hollywood Road at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at Vine Road. The sedan collided with a Chevrolet SUV that was traveling southbound on Vine Road. A passenger in the SUV, 35-year-old Palmer resident Mark Carroll, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV was treated and released at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to a Mat-Su area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Carroll’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, and his next of kin have been notified. The investigation continues.
