    Location: Seward
    Type: MIW 2, MICS 4, Promoting Contraband 1, Tampering

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11/08/2024 at about 1602 hours, Seward AST received a promoting contraband complainant from Spring Creek Correctional Center (SCCC). The investigation revealed that Whitney Lamont, 19 YOA of Anchorage, smuggled suboxone into SCCC. Whitney delivered the suboxone to Robert Dundas, 19 YOA of SCCC. Robert swallowed the suboxone before being detained by correctional officers. Whitney was placed under arrest for misconduct involving controlled substances (MICS) in the 4th degree and promoting contraband in the 1st degree. Whitney was transported to Wildwood Pretrial where she was remanded on the aforementioned charges without bail. Seward AST is requesting several summonses for Robert including MICS in the 4th degree, promoting contraband in the 1st degree, and tampering with physical evidence.

    On 11/09/2024, Seward AST executed multiple search warrants, including a search warrant on Whitney’s vehicle. The search of the vehicle revealed a concealable handgun in Whitney’s purse. Seward AST filed an additional charge for misconduct involving weapons (MIW) in the 2nd degree. The investigation is ongoing.

    UPDATE:

    On 11/10/2024, SCCC recovered the swallowed bundle of suboxone. The bundle contained approximately 392 user doses of suboxone valued at about $49,000 dollars inside SCCC's walls.

    On 11/15/24, at approximately 2235 hours, Palmer AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Mothershead Lane, in Palmer, for an equipment violation.  The driver was identified as Austin I. Wilmarth, age 26, of Palmer.  An investigation revealed that Wilmarth had a warrant for his arrest for the Failure to Comply with Conditions of Probation for the Original Charge of Criminal Mischief 3rd (Petition to Revoke Probation for Technical Violations x4).  Wilmarth was arrested on the warrant and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial, where he was held in lieu of a cash appearance bail amount of $1,500.

    Type: Assault DV

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11/16/2024 at approximately 2018 hours, Troopers responded to a residence in the Glennallen area for a report of a disturbance. Upon further investigation, Lakota McRoberts, 24, of Glennallen was arrested and charged with Assault 4th (DV). McRoberts was remanded and held without bail.

    On November 16, 2024 at approximately 2100 hours, AST contacted Kyle McManus, 33 years old of Wasilla, at his residence. Kyle was known to have an active warrant for his arrest that was confirmed through APSIN (REF: 3PA-24-01307CR Failure to Comply with Conditions of Release, Original Charge MICS 4.) Kyle was arrested and remanded to Mat Su Pre-Trial where he was held on $1,000 bail.

    Type: Structure Fire

    Dispatch Text:

    Update: At 11:50 am, human remains were located inside the debris of the burned residence. The State Fire Marshall responded and the remains were recovered. The State Medical Examiner was notified and the remains were sent for autopsy and positive identification. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

     

    Original: On November 16, 2024, at 6:05 am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a structure fire in the village of Selawik. The report stated that a residence was fully involved and it was unknown if persons were inside or had exited. Further investigation revealed Lester Hingsbergen, 35 of Selewik, was unaccounted for. Multiple other people inside the residence had escaped. A local search to locate Lester is underway. The State Fire Marshall was notified and is responding.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    Dispatch Text:

    On November 14, 2024, AST received a report of an assault in Stebbins. Erik S. Milligrock (39 yoa of Stebbins) assaulted a woman during the early morning hours of 11/8/2024. The woman was not seriously injured. AST arrested Milligrock for assault in the third degree and transported him to AMCC.

    Type: Search and Rescue

    Dispatch Text:

    On November 15, 2024, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a missing person. Two men were traveling by ATV from Bethel to Napaskiak. One of the men stated that the other man got ahead of him on the trail. Around 15 minutes later the first man followed the ATV tracks to an open hole in the ice and could see an ATV under water in the middle of the river. At this time the other man has not been located. Search teams from Bethel began searching once there was enough daylight. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

    On 11/15/2024 Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the area of Johansen Expy and Hunter St. Troopers conducted investigation that ultimately led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, Lori Ruggles. Lori is charged with the crime of AS28.35.030(a)((2) Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage, a class A Misdemeanor.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11-16-24, Delta Junction AST received a report of a VID where the driver was intoxicated. It was reported the driver had walked approximately five miles from his vehicle before he was located bleeding from his head. EMS responded and cleared the driver, Jeffrey Calarie. Jeffrey was arrested for DUI and brought to the Delta AST post for Datamaster. Jeffrey provided a breath sample which resulted in a BrAC of .151. He was released on his own recognizance.

    Location: Fairbanks
    Type: Overdose Death

    Dispatch Text:

    On November 12, 2024, at around 12:30 pm, the Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team (FANT) responded to a report of an overdose at the Comfort Inn. Scene investigation revealed a man had died after an apparent overdose. Further investigation revealed that 36-year-old Latasha Seawood of Anchorage was staying in the hotel with the man and had left prior to FANT's arrival. 

     

    On November 13, 2024, at 6:30 am, Fairbanks patrol and the Criminal Suppression Unit contacted Seawood at a hotel where she was staying. Seawood was arrested for a bench warrant for absconding, MICS 2 x2, MICS 3 x2, MIW 2, MIW 3, Tampering w/ evidence, theft 2, and providing false information. While searching the two hotel rooms, troopers located over 500 fentanyl pills, fentanyl powder, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, a pistol, approximately $2000 cash, and a scale. 
     
    The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. Next of kin notifications are ongoing. This incident is still under investigation.  
     
    The Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit is made up of members from the Alaska State Troopers, Drug Enforcement Administration, Fairbanks Police Department, Fairbanks Airport PD, North Pole Police Department, North Slope Borough PD, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

    On November 15th, 2024, at approximately 2:59 PM the Alaska State Troopers along with the Department of Transportation were conducting Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections in Fairbanks. During an inspection it was discovered that Joel Clark of Las Vegas, was operating a commercial motor vehicle without a valid commercial driver's license. Joel was provided a summons for court.

    On 11-16-24, Delta Junction AST received a report of a potential trespassing at a residence near Remington Rd. Troopers responded and contacted the complainant, Talissa Solomon, age 33 of Delta Junction. Talissa admitted to drinking and had an odor of alcohol coming from her person. Probations requested a PBT from Talissa and she refused. After a slight scuffle, Talissa was arrested and remanded to FCC for a Probation Violation. The trespassing issue appeared to be a civil matter.

    Type: Driving Under the Influence

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11/15/2024 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Jay Seese, age 52 of Anchorage, after his vehicle went into the ditch on the Sterling Highway near Panoramic Drive. Seese failed standardized field sobriety tests. Seese provided a sample of his breath which revealed a breath alcohol content of .169. Seese was placed under arrest and remanded at Wildwood Pre-Trial on a charge of Driving Under the Influence.
