On 12/7/2025, at approximately 2126 hours, Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on a known vehicle at the Lost Lake Trailhead in Seward. The vehicle was occupied by two individuals, one of which was identified as Melissa Salgado, age 47 of Seward, who was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant for Violation of Conditions of Release on original felony charges of MICS 2, MICS 3 and VCOR. Salgado was transported to Wildwood Pre-Trial Facility and held on $9,000 bail.

On 12/08/2025, at approximately 1448 hours, Seward AST conducted a search warrant on a property on Salmon Creek Rd and was able to locate and arrest Ethan Lane, age 43 of Seward, for an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Theft 3. Lane was transported to Spring Creek Correctional Center where he was remanded on a $250.00 bail.

On 12/08/2025, at approximately 1638 hours, Seward AST went to a residence on Meridian Ave in Seward in attempt to locate Tonya Davis, age 40 of Seward, for an outstanding arrest warrant. Tonya was located inside the residence and placed into custody without incident. Tonya was transported to Wildwood Pre-Trial Facility where she was held on a $250.00 cash bail for Failure to Appear on the original charges of DUI.

On December 7, 2025, at 10:00 am, the Nikiski Fire Department responded to a wooded area off Admiralty Drive in Nikiski and found a camper fully engulfed in flames. A single deceased adult was found inside. The State Fire Marshal's office and the Soldotna ABI Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate. The body is being transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification. Next of kin have been notified.

On 12/8/25 at approximately 1230 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy SUV for a moving violation on Williwaw Way in Wasilla. An investigation revealed that the driver Christopher Faulkner, 34 of Palmer, had an extraditable warrant for his arrest out of Nebraska on the original charges of Strangulation, Terroristic Threatening, Child Abuse and First-Degree Trespass. Faulkner was arrested for his warrant and remanded to MSPT on the charge of Fugitive from Justice.

On 12/8/2025, at approximately 1311 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in the area of Brumage Drive in Wasilla. AST responded to the scene. AST contacted Thomas Koecher, age 20 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that he assaulted a family member and damaged property belonging to a family member. Thomas was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded and held without bail.

On 12/8/25 at around 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on the Glenn Highway near Farm Loop. Investigation showed a Ford F550 crossed the centerline and hit a Ford Flex. The F550 eventually stopped about 20 yards into the woods. The driver of the F550 was taken to Mat-Su Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigation is ongoing.

On 12/7/2025 at approximately 2222 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on Mitchell Expressway and Lathrop Street in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Jaydon Bjorklund, 18 YOA, was driving in violation of his restricted license. Bjorklund was issued a summons and released.

Investigation revealed Krystal Edwin, 42 YOA, assaulted a family member in the presence of a child. Edwin was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on one count each of Assault 4th Degree/DV A.S. 11.41.230(a)(1) and Assault in the Presence of a Child A.S. 11.41.240(a).

On 12/8/2025, At 1420 Hours AST received a report from the North Star Center that an assault occurred in their facility. An investigation revealed that Jenell Semaken had assaulted another inmate. Charges were forwarded to the DAO for non DV assault.
