On March 17, 2026, at 10:40 pm. The Alaska State Troopers were notified of an assault with a knife at a residence in Nikiski. Troopers responded and determined that 26-year-old Nikiski resident William Johnson had attacked multiple household members with a knife before being restrained by the other residents. Two adults were injured by Johnson; one was treated on scene by EMS and the other was transported to a Kenai Peninsula area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Johnson was arrested on charges of Domestic Violence Assault 1, Assault 2, Assault 3, and a Assault in the Presence of a Child. He was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On 3/18/26 at approximately 1058 hours, Anchor Point AST took the report of a motor vehicle collision – damage only near the south intersection of the Old Sterling Highway and the Sterling Highway. Troopers arrived on scene and determined the at fault driver was Demetria A. Lugo-Sena (35 YOA) of Anchor Point. AST confirmed with dispatch and APSIN that Lugo-Sena’s license is revoked for refusal. Lugo-Sena was issued a misdemeanor citation for DWLR with a court date set for a later date.

On 03/18/2026 at approximately 1454 hours Glennallen AST responded to a single vehicle roll over at approximately Mile 177 of the Glenn Highway. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported by EMS for suspected minor injuries.

On March 17, 2026, at 6:17 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that a juvenile was threatening family members with a knife in Pitka's Point. Troopers responded and worked to de-escalate the situation. The juvenile refused to follow commands and was physically restrained and disarmed by the responding Troopers. A Trooper received minor injuries during the incident, no other injuries were reported to Troopers. The female was arrested, and charges were referred to the Division of Juvenile Justice.

On 03/18/2026, AST Dispatch in Fairbanks received a report of a domestic violence assault in the Sheep Creek area of Fairbanks. Troopers responded to the residence and contacted the suspect, 50-year-old Edie Solomon, who was attempting to leave the area. After speaking with the victim and completing the investigation, Solomon was placed under arrest for Assault in the Fourth Degree and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 03/18/2026, at approximately 06:07, Fairbanks AST Dispatch received a report from Speedway Express Gas Station regarding a theft. Staff reported that an unidentified male suspect stole merchandise valued at approximately $20.

On 3/18/26, at 1514 hours, the Dot Lake TPO made telephone contact with the Tok VPSO advising he had detained Daniel Rice age 43 of Dot Lake. The Fairbanks Court issued an unsecured bench warrant for Rice. (Review 4FA-23 01965CR)
At 1530 hours, the VPSO drove to Dot Lake to provided Rice with a new court date and have him signed a unsecured bond agreement and he was released.
AST would like to thank the Dot Lake Police Officer for his help in locating and detaining Rice.

On 03/18/2026 at 1853 hours the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop for speeding near Mile 265 Parks Highway. Investigation determined the driver, Matthew Steele, age 46 from Anchorage had a revoked driver's license. Steele was issued a misdemeanor summons for DWLR and arrangements were made for a licensed driver to take possession of the vehicle.

Location: BethelType: Injured MooseDispatch Text:
On March 17, 2026, at around noon, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to the Kuskokwim River Ice Road near Bethel for reports of an injured moose. A cow moose had visible injuries to its hind leg, was unable to walk for over 24 hours, and was a potential public safety risk to the users of the ice road. In coordination with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Troopers dispatched the moose. The remains were salvaged through a local charity.
