On 04/20/2026, at approximately 0729 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan were dispatched to the Alaska Marine Highway System building located at 7037 North Tongass Highway to investigate a commercial motor vehicle that drove off the roadway and off an elevated embankment into the building. The building and the vehicle sustained significant damage. Investigation revealed that the cause of the incident was the driver falling asleep. The driver was transported by North Tongass EMS to Peace Health Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

On 4/20/26 at approximately 1022 hours, Anchor Point AST took the report of a disturbance in the Fritz Creek area just east of Homer. AST responded and subsequent investigation revealed Saul Gamble (43 YOA) of Homer had assaulted his family member by placing them in fear of imminent physical injury when he attempted to forcibly gain entry into her residence and take her phone. Gamble was arrested and transported to Homer Jail for booking with no bail.

Location: KetchikanType: Unlawful Contact 1st Degree, VCORDispatch Text:
On 04/21/2026 at about 1734 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an intoxicated male in the area of Refuge Cove. State Parks Ranger and AST responded to the scene. Additional information was received that another person fled to area prior to officers arrival but was still in the area. State Parks and AST located and contacted a male in the area who was identified as Jason Graham, age 21 of Ketchikan. Graham was found to be violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by being in contact with a victim of a DV Assault who the court had instructed Graham he could not be in contact with. Graham was arrested for Unlawful Contact in the 1st Degree, and VCOR. Graham was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center. AST would like to thank the North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department and the State Park Ranger for their assistance and fast response.

On April 20th, 2026 at approximately 19:23 the Alaska State Troopers took a report of a dark colored Chevy Truck crossing into oncoming traffic and crashing into a ditch across from Craig Taylor Equipment the driver identified as Jaden Lee McCarthy (6/20/1999) was located shortly afterward at the Short Stop parking lot not far from where the incident occured with her juvenile daughter in the vehicle. Jaden was transported to Soldotna AST post for Datamaster Test and Central Peninsula Hospital for a legal blood draw. Jaden was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial facility for Felony DUI, Endangering the Welfare of a minor 1st degree, Misconduct involving a controlled substance 5th degree, and Violating Conditions of Release.

UPDATE 4/21: As part of the Alaska State Trooper criminal investigation on April 21, 2026, Troopers arrested 35-year-old Willow resident Misty Rehder on 26 counts of Cruelty to Animals. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial without incident. The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank the Alaskans who contributed to our investigation.
ORIGINAL: On April 15, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers were asked to assist Mat-Su Borough Animal Control with an investigation in the Caswell Lakes area. Upon arrival Troopers located 25 deceased dogs. A criminal animal cruelty investigation has been started by Troopers. Additional information will be released as the investigation continues.

On 4/20/26 at approximately 1941 hours, AST recieved a report of an assault at a residence on Michaelson St in Palmer. AST responded and investigation revealed Isaac Pruett age 52, of Palmer assaulted someone in the residence. Pruett was arrested for assault 3 DV and remanded to MSPT in Palmer where his bail was set at no bail.

On 04/20/2026 at approximately 2302 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single-vehicle collision near mile 47 of the Parks Highway. AST responded, and the following investigation revealed that John Holm, 29 YOA, was driving while under the influence of alcohol. John was arrested and transported to MSPT, where he was remanded and held until he could be released on his own recognizance.

On 4/14/2026, at approximately 0715 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle fire at the corner of Sushana Drive and Schwald Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed it was intentionally set on fire. AST is seeking the public’s help with any information pertaining to the vehicle fire between 0630 hours to 0715 hours. On April 20, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Pleasure Drive after receiving a report that 34-year-old Kyle Folger assaulted a female victim and restricted her ability to breathe. The investigation revealed that Folger took and hid the victim’s phone, damaged her property, and provided conflicting statements before admitting to taking her belongings. Folger was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
