    Location: Seward
    Type: DUI and MICS

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/14/2025 at about 1909 hours, Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on the Seward Highway in Seward. The driver was identified as Tonya Davis, 40 YOA of Seward, and the passenger was identified as Stephanie Bruce, 40 YOA of Seward. The investigation revealed that Tonya Davis was driving under the influence of drugs. Tonya Davis was issued a misdemeanor citation for DUI and given a mandatory court appearance. Seward AST seized Stephanie Bruce's backpack pending the application of a search warrant and released her from the scene. On 06/18/2025, Seward AST executed a search warrant on Stephanie Bruce's backpack which revealed she was in possession of fentanyl powder, methamphetamine, a digital scale, and packaging materials. Stephanie Bruce was placed under arrest for two counts of MICS in the 4th degree and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial without bail.

    Type: Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and VCOR

     On 06/18/2025 at about 1740 hours, dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting that Kevin Vankleeck, 44 YOA of Seward, was jumping out in front of vehicles on Nash Road in Seward. Nash Road has a posted speed limit of 55mph. Dispatch advised that Vankleeck was on conditions of release to obey all state laws and if he violated those conditions of release that he was to be held without bail until given a court approved third-party. Seward AST arrived on scene and found Vankleeck walking in the middle of Nash Road, stopping traffic. Seward AST told Vankleeck that he was under arrest and Kevin fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Kevin threw a bag of trash in the trooper's face before being tackled to the ground. Vankleeck was placed under arrest for reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and violating conditions of release. Vankleeck was remanded to Spring Creek Correctional Center on the aforementioned charges without bail.

    On 6/19/2025, at approximately 1800 hours, Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on a sedan in Crown Point for failure to maintain lane position. Investigation led to the arrest of the driver, Paul Cottrell Jr, age 59 of Seward, for operating his vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Additionally, Cottrell was on conditions of release for an open case and remanded to Spring Creek Correctional Center on the charges of DUI and VCOR, release pending arraignment.

    On 6/19/2025 at approximately 0509 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a 911 call that sounded like a woman in distress.  Troopers responded to the address and found Stefan Gudmundson (56YOA) at the property.  There was no woman in distress, however, Stefan had a warrant for failure to remand.  He was placed under arrest and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded to serve his sentence.

    Type: Probation Violation

    Dispatch Text:

    On June 18, 2025, at approximately 1529 hours Alaska State Troopers in Tok aided Fairbanks Probation Officers with a probation contact at the residence of Floyd Stuck, age 57 of Tok. The contact resulted in a search warrant being obtained for the residence and Stuck being placed under arrest for multiple Probation Violations. Stuck was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for the Probation Violations. Investigation is ongoing and additional charges will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office.

    On 06/18/2025 at approximately 2027 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a DVPO violation. Investigation revealed Jeffery Labrenz, 59 YOA, violated a DVPO. Labrenz was remanded to FCC.

    Dispatch Text:

    On June 19, 2025 the Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU).  Located Andrew Vavra  (age 47 of North Pole), in the parking lot of Ace Hardware in North Pole.

    Vavra had four outstanding felony warrants for his arrest : 4FA-22-01793CR (report to jail to serve sentence for VCOR ) , 4FA-20-01674CR ( report to jail to serve sentence for Escape III) , 4FA-22-00383CR  (Report to jail to serve sentence for Misconduct Involving a Weapon III, VCOR x2), 4FA-19-03383CR (fail to report to jail to serve sentence for Promoting contraband 1).   

    Vavra was contacted in his vehicle and placed under arrest.  During the contact, Vavra was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Vavra was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center to serve his sentence.  

    Additional felony charges will be forwarded regarding the methamphetamine and fentanyl.

    On 6/19/25, at 1113 hours, a Tok residence came to Post reporting he had  received a text message stating he owned DMV fines and were requesting a cash payments.  The text messages was threating if payment was not made his vehicle registration would be suspended along with his driver's licence.  AST Fairbanks Dispatch also confirmed they had received hundreds of complaints about this scam on 6/19/25.  An online internet crime complaint was filed with the FBI.  Investigation is on going in this matter.

    On June 19, 2025, at approximately 1235 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Dartmouth Dr for a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Kyle Trojan-Kline, 28 YOA of Fairbanks, committed the offense of Assault 4 DV and Assault in the presence of a child (DV). He was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

    On 06/19/2025 at approximately 1641 hours, AST Nenana responded to a report of an RV fire near Mile 305 Parks Hwy. The investigation revealed the family in the RV was traveling after leaving Kat Morgan, age 31 of North Pole, in Fairbanks. At approximately 1208 hours while in Fairbanks, Kat intentionally cut the tire of a family members motorcycle with a box knife. The fire was unrelated. Kat was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4th DV. She was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center and held without bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On June 19, 2025, at approximately 1834 hours, Fairbanks AST conducted a traffic stop at approximately mile 360 of the Richardson Highway. Troopers observed drug paraphernalia and searched the vehicle after a search warrant was granted. Suspected fentanyl powder and methamphetamine were seized from the vehicle. Emma Hayward, age 21, was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fifth degree.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Type: Sport Fishing Violation

    Dispatch Text:

    On 6/19/2025 at approximately 0630 hours, Soldotna Alaska Wildlife Troopers received information about an individual retaining wild king salmon from the Ninilchik River. A Wildlife Trooper responded to the area and contacted Tae Yun, age 41, of Anchorage. Yun was found to have one wild king salmon greater than 20 inches in his possession. Yun was issued a citation with a fine of $270, and his fish was seized and given to a charity.
