On 08/31 at approximately 2200 hours AST responded to a report of abandon dogs at a residence in Nikiski Alaska. 4 living dogs and one deceased dog were recovered from the residence. Investigation revealed that Anthony Little, 28 YAO, of Nikiski had been responsible for care of the animals and had failed to provide Adequate care. Little was charged with 5 counts of animal cruelty and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial. KPD and Kenai Animal shelter along with Kpal assisted with caring for and providing new homes for the dogs. Investigation is continuing.

On 09/04/2025 at approximately 1636 hours Glennallen AST and VPSO’s located Amber Alexander, age 41 of Gulkana. Alexander had a $500 bail felony arrest warrant for a Probation Violation stemming from the original charge of Assault in the 3rd degree. Alexander was placed under arrest and transported to Glennallen AST post where she was held on her bail.

On June 27, 2025, at approximately 1503 hours, Mat-Su Borough Animal Control was conducting a welfare check on two animals when suspected criminal action occurred, and they requested AST assistance.
AST responded and located 16 dead animals on the property, 13 of which were decaying in the garage of the property, and had been for more than 6 months. Animal Control seized two large-breed dogs that were severely underweight and a healthy cat with consent from the owner, 42 year old, Kevin Neher of Wasilla. Based on the conditions found in the garage, and an interview with Neher on scene, AST referred felony animal cruelty charges for Neher to the District Attorney’s Office.Posted on 9/4/2025 8:11:21 AM by SOA\nwblanchard

On 09/03/2025 at approximately 2342 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on Champine Road near Church. The following investigation revealed that Scott Carlson, 60 YOA, was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Scott was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where he was held on $500.00 bail.

On 09/04/2025 at approximately 2038 hours Glennallen AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a seatbelt violation in Copper Center. Investigation revealed that the driver, Alece Miller, age 29 of Copper Center, was driving while her driving license was suspended. Further investigation revealed that Miller had prior convictions of Driving While License Revoked/Suspended and that Miller was on conditions of release stemming from the original charge of Driving While License Suspended. Miller was placed under arrest and transported to Glennallen AST on a $250 bail for Driving While License Suspended with prior convictions, Violating Conditions of Release, and for not having Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance. The vehicle was impounded for no proof of registration.

On September 4, 2025, AST located 42-year-old Kevin Neher of Wasilla on Knik Goose Bay Road. Kevin was known to have felony warrants for his arrest. AST conducted a traffic stop, and Kevin was arrested. He was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial, where he was remanded on his felony warrants for animal cruelty.

In the early hours of September 4, 2025, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a GMC Sierra after observing the vehicle commit several moving violations. Initially, the driver failed to stop at the direction of a peace officer and continued on for a short distance before eventually pulling over.
Upon contact with the driver, later identified as Stephen K. Clark, troopers conducted an on-scene investigation which led to Clark’s arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center.
Clark now faces multiple charges, including Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Failure to Yield at the Direction of a Peace Officer.
The case remains active and under investigation. No additional information is being released at this time.

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 1417 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted a vehicle driving on the road in Tanacross. Investigation revealed that the driver, Shannon Kiehl (age 38 of Tanacross), was Driving with a Suspended License after having previously been convicted. Kiehl is also on conditions of release in 4TO-23-00043CR, 4TO-25-00053CR, and 4TO-25-00054CR. Kiehl was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on the charges of Driving while License Suspended, No Liability Insurance, Failure to Title Vehicle Within 30 Days of Purchase, and Violating Conditions of Release x 3.

On 8/6/2025 an Alaska Wildlife Trooper patrolling the caribou hunt on the North Slope responded to MP407 of the Dalton Highway. Witnesses reported seeing a hunter kill a brown bear (closed season) with a bow/arrow and leave the scene. With the cooperation of multiple witnesses, the hunter was identified as Texas resident William Giovengo Jr. William claimed the killing was necessary in the defense of life. Subsequent investigation along with witness statements and video footage resulted in William being charged with two misdemeanors: Take Brown Bear Closed Season and Hunting Brown Bear as Non-Resident without a Guide.

On 5/16/2025, while patrolling bear bait stations near Nenana, Wildlife Troopers located a bear bait station with a cellular game camera. Information received from search warrants revealed the camera to have an active cellular subscription and was transmitting images from the bait station to the users online account during both the 2023 and 2024 Regulatory Year bear bait seasons.
Re-inspection of the bear bait station on 7/26/25 revealed that the bear bait station still had a tree stand, ground blind, camping chair, large cooler, bait barrel, and trash present. Bear bait season ended on 6/30 and all equipment was required to be removed from the site prior to.
Investigation resulted in Brenden Corrigan being charged with two counts of Unlawful Methods/Means: Wireless Camera and two counts of Failure to Clean Bear Bait Station.

On 9/4/2025 Wildlife Troopers in Fairbanks were contacted by Apple SOS Emergency Services. 3 hunters on a multi-week rafting/hunting trip in Beaver Creek called for assistance as the 79 year old male in their party had over-exerted himself and was frequently falling over. Troopers responded in an R44 helicopter and transported the injured party to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The remaining two individuals were uninjured and well supplied. They rafted several more miles downstream to an airstrip where they are awaiting an early pickup from their air taxi service.

On 9/3/2025 at approximately 1200 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers were advised of a dead Bull moose that was not salvaged on Kalifornsky Beach Road in Kasilof. Investigation revealed the moose was shot the evening of 9/2/2025. Troopers were able to identify Ryan Hatt age 33 from Soldotna the individual who shot the moose. The moose was a sub-legal bull, and Ryan Hatt left the moose due to it being a sub-legal and did not salvage any of the edible meat. Two misdemeanor citations were filled with the Kenai Courthouse. One for Wanton and Waste and the other one for Take of sub-legal bull.
