On January 20th, 2026 at approximately 1206 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report of a white SUV driving all over the roadway, crossing the center line, and was tailgating other vehicles. AST responded and contacted a white SUV near mile 155 of the Sterling Highway. Subsequent investigation led to Jerimiah Stueckle, age 38 of Homer, being placed under arrest for one count of Felony DUI, Driving While License was Revoked, Resisting Arrest, Assault in the 4th Degree, five counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 3rd Degree, and five counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the 5th Degree. Jerimiah was transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

On 1/20/2026, at approximately 1630 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Flint Drive in Wasilla for a warrant service. AST contacted Zachary Bryant, age 36 of Wasilla. Zachary had two outstanding arrest warrants. Zachary was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded and held on a $1,300 bail.

On 1/20/26 at approximately 0140 hours, AST attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at W Parks Hwy and S Clapp Rd in Wasilla. The vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle eventually stopped at Shrock Rd and Heather Wy, and the driver was detained and identified as Jazmyn Buchanan, age 26 of Wasilla. Jazmyn was arrested and remanded to MSPT without bail for Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer, Reckless Driving, DUI, and VCOR.

On 01/07/2026 during an investigation of a previous case at the Stebbins School Unalakleet based State Trooper received a report of a disturbance of a student. The incident occurred on 09/11/2025 where the student assaulted a staff member and began throwing rocks at another student. During the altercation the student damaged a toilet and attempted to break several windows, The case is being forwarded to DJJ for review.

On 01/05/2026 at approximately 00:25 hours Bethel based Alaska State Troopers received a report of an overdue snowmachine. The snowmachiner had contacted his wife that he had become stuck in a snowbank at approximately 5 miles from Atmautlual (Atmau). Atmau searchers had attempted to locate them but lost their bearing due to the blizzard. RCC was contacted but they were unable to fly due to weather. At approximately 01:40 hours Atmau launched an additional 3 man snowmachine rescue team. At approximately 03:49 hours Troopers received a report that Atmau SAR had located the snowmachiner.

On January 20, 2026 at 2:12 AM, Alaska State Troopers responded to an open 911 line in Tok. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael Stober, age 32 of Tok, for Assault 2, Assault 4, Assault in the Presence of a Child, and Probation Violation. On Jan. 19, 2026, Alaka State Troopers received a report around 10:45 a.m. that a commercial semi-truck crashed near Mile 126 of the Dalton Highway. The driver, 32-year-old Austin Mitchell, lost control while navigating a turn and left the highway. The truck’s tank was punctured during the crash, resulting in a release of LNG gas that was being transported. Mitchell was cited for failure to exercise due care to avoid collision. He was not injured.

On January 20, 2026, at approximately 1943 hours, AST was on the roadside near MP 243 Richardson Highway for a wildlife call. AST attempted to stop a vehicle approaching the scene for an equipment violation. The vehicle failed to stop when signaled to do so by AST. A pursuit was initiated and after over two miles, the vehicle stopped. The driver was identified as Daniel Brower, age 74 of Fairbanks. Investigation resulted in Brower being issued a felony summons due to his reckless driving and failing to stop at the direction of a peace officer. Additionally, a minor offense citation was issued.
