On March 10, 2026, at approximately 1838 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Anchor Point. AST responded and investigation revealed that Wayne Sexton, age 55, of Anchorage committed Assault in the 3rd Degree DV, Assault in the 4th Degree DV and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree DV. Wayne was transported and remanded to the Homer Jail on his charges.

AST arrested Floyd Bussing for 3 counts of Assault in the 3th Degree (2 of the counts were domestic violence). On 3/9/2026, at approximately 1900 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a deceased individual near Mile 183 of the Glenn Highway. Troopers responded and located a deceased male inside the residence. The individual was identified as Edward Winishut, age 31, of Glennallen. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin was notified on scene. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy.

On 03/10/2026 at approximately 0404 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a black 2024 GMC Sierra near Church Road and Pittman Road for multiple moving violations. Investigation revealed the driver, Evelyn Ballot, age 38 of Wasilla, was driving under the influence of alcohol. On 03/08/2026, Troopers responded to the area of mile 346 of the Parks Highway with reports of a car vs semi truck collision. No parties were seriously injured, and the car was towed away due to disabling damages, while the semi truck sustained minor cosmetic damage.

On 03/09/2026, Fairbanks AST received a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) Report of a person passed out behind the driver's seat at a gas station. AST contacted the driver, and after the investigation, she was found to be driving in violation of her restricted license. She was placed under arrest and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center

On March 9th, 2026, at approximately 2230 hours, Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in the area of Moose Creek. Investigation revealed Connor Mannan, age 26 of Moose Creek, assaulted a live in family member. Connor was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for Assault II, Assault III, Assault IV, and Criminal Mischief V.

On 03/10/2026, AST responded to the intersection of Chena Hotsprings Road and Nordale Road for a report of a single vehicle accident. The vehicle did strike the stop sign at the intersection. The occupants did not report any injuries and declined medical attention. While troopers were on scene, another motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection. All parties involved were uninjured and declined medical attention. DOT placed gravel at the intersection.

On March 9, 2026, AST went to Shishmaref to investigate ongoing manufacturing and sale of homebrew in the local option village. AST served a search warrant at a house in Shishmaref and seized evidence of the homebrew manufacturing and sales. AST is still investigating the case and charges are pending.
