On 3/29/2026 at approximately 1530 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) report off West Poppy Lane, in Soldotna. It was reported a maroon 2008 Chevrolet Suburban was driving across both lanes of traffic and in the middle of the road. It was contacted at a nearby residence and the driver identified as Beatrice Alma Katongan, age 42 of Soldotna. Investigation revealed Katongan had been driving the vehicle while impaired and under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested for DUI and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On 3/30/2026 at approximately 1734 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a bicyclist riding in the road, near milepost 4 Funny River Road. It was reported the bicyclist ran into a passing motorist, causing damage to their vehicle. The bicyclist was contacted and identified as Kevin Andrew Moore, age 49 of Soldotna. Investigation resulted in Moore being arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief and Violation of Conditions of Release. His conditions of release were from a pending Disorderly Conduct charge two weeks prior, for similar behavior, riding his bicycle in the road and impeding traffic. He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On 3/30/2026 at approximately 1557 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a 1991 Ford pickup on Kalifornsky Beach Road for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Nathan Lee James, age 38 of Montana. Investigation revealed James was driving with a suspended Montana operator's license. Further, that he had no motor vehicle liability insurance on the vehicle and was in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 5th. He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On 3/31/2026, at approximately 1205 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) report of a maroon 2008 Chevrolet Suburban that struck the Kenai River Bridge in Cooper Landing. Alaska State Parks conducted a traffic stop, and the investigation revealed the driver, identified as Les Kayoukluk, age 43 of Soldotna, had been driving the vehicle while impaired and under the influence of alcohol. He also had a revoked license (DWLR) from a previous DUI conviction. He was arrested for DUI, DWLR and Leaving the Scene of an Accident and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility. The suburban involved was also driven in a previous DUI, with a different driver, on 03/29/2026 (AK26027469).

On 3/31/2026 at approximately 1035 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a black 2011 GMC Yukon in the ditch on English Avenue, with the driver passed out. The driver was identified as Crystal Dawn Annette Requena. Investigation revealed Requena had been driving the vehicle while impaired and under the influence of controlled substances. She was arrested for DUI and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility. AST investigation continues.

On March 30, 2026, at approximately 20:43 hours, a vehicle was stopped for speeding on Big Lake Road. Investigation showed that the driver, Richard Estes, age 69 of Big Lake, was driving under the influence. On 3/30/2026 at approximately 0830 hours, Court Services Officers assigned to Palmer Judicial Services remanded Korie Russell, 35, of Wasilla for an outstanding arrest warrant for Theft III. Russell was remanded on the warrant while in custody at the Mat-Su Prial Facility in Palmer for unrelated charges. Bail was set at $1,000 cash performance bond and court approved conditions of release.

On 3/31/2026, at approximately 1635 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop at Lakes Blvd near Beaver Lake Road in Big Lake. The driver was identified as Gavin Mciver, age 30 of Big Lake. Investigation revealed that Gavin had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Gavin was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded and held on a $2,000 bail.

On 03/30/2026, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a male walking into oncoming traffic at approximately Mile 354 of the Parks Highway. Troopers located and contacted Gary Waddington from Fairbanks. Waddington was found to be intoxicated and failed to comply with lawful commands to get out of the roadway. Waddington was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

He was ultimately arrested for Disorderly conduct due to his actions when Troopers were on scene after challenging another to a fight. Walter Lincoln was remanded to FCC.

On 03/26.2026, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford F-150 at the Valley Country Store near E. Bogard Road and E. Seldon Road for an equipment violation. It was determined that a passenger, Christopher Todd age 33 of Palmer, had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear for a court appearance on the original charge of Theft 3rd Degree. Todd was arrested and remanded to MAT-SU Pretrial on his warrant.
