    Type: DUI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child

    On 7/27/2025, at approximately 1847 hours, Seward AST received a REDDI report of a silver SUV swerving in the roadway near mile 43 of the Seward Highway. AST was nearby, responded, and located the vehicle at a pullout at mile 47 at 1853 hours. The driver was located with a partially consumed alcoholic beverage in his hand with two juveniles in the vehicle under the age of 4. The driver, Emiliano Martinez-Alvarez, was transported to Spring Creek Correctional Center where he was remanded on the charges of DUI and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 1st Degree, and held on a $1,000.00 for having two prior DUIs.

    On 7/27/2025, at approximately  2154 hours, Seward AST received a 911 call from Dennis Maurer, age 33 of Switzerland, stating that he had climbed a mountain in Seward and had out climbed his abilities, could not return on his own without assistance and did not have the proper equipment to climb down. Seward AST located the individual through the use of sUAS, and was able to ascertain his wellbeing, determining his location to be just shy of 4000' near the peak of Mount Marathon. RCC (National Guard) was contacted for assistance due to the lack of a landing zone for other resources, arriving in Seward in the early morning hours. They were able to locate Dennis, pick him up and return him to the Seward Airport at 0143 hours where he met with local law enforcement. Dennis was not injured and required no medical attention.

    AST would like to thank the assistance of the Rescue Coordination Center, the Air National Guard and Seward Police Department for their assistance.

    On 7/28/2025 at approximately 1600 hours, Palmer Judicial Services arrested Tracy Jerue, age 46, of Wasilla following a change of plea / sentencing hearing at the Palmer Courthouse where she pled guilty to Escape III and Violating Conditions of Release x 2. Jerue was lodged at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility sentenced to 3 years and 60 days consecutive with credit for time already served.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/28/25 at approx. 0100hrs AST responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the Wasilla area. Investigation revealed that Tami Horton (age 25 of Nome) was involved in a physical altercation with a family member that resulted in minor injuries. Tami Horton has arrested and transported to the Palmer Pretrial Facility where she was remanded on one count of Assault III. Tami Horton is being held without bail until arraignment.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/27/2025 at approximately 1830 hours, AST received a report of a Reddi vehicle on Seldon Rd.  AST located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after observing continued erratic driving.  Investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Margaret Billinger, 70 YOA, was operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Margaret was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where she was held on her own recognizance.

    On 7/27/2025, at approximately 1521 hours, AST received a report of a Burglary in the area of Willard Kash Road in Willow. AST responded to the scene. AST contacted Shaunessy Weston, age 52 of Soldotna and Corey Toews, age 52 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Shaunessy and Corey committed the crimes of Burglary II and Theft II. Shaunessy and Corey were arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where they were remanded and held without bail.

    Type: Felon in Possession of Firearm

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/27/25 at about 2104 hours, AST Parks Hwy Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a green truck for speeding near mile 285 of the Parks Hwy.  Investigation revealed the driver, BRADLEY KRUGER, (age 24 of Anchorage) was in possession of a handgun after being convicted in the past on several occasions of Felony level crimes and was currently already on Federal Probation/Parole for a Federal Conviction of Felon in Possession of a firearm. AST seized the handgun and arrested BRADLEY and remanded him to Fairbanks Correctional Center with no bail till arraignment.

    Over the last few weeks, the Alaska State Troopers have received multiple reports of vandalism at various public/communal City of Delta Junction properties including the hockey rink, soccer fields, park, etc. Perpetrators appear to be unsupervised minors and young adults on dirt bikes and ATV's. 

    Frequent vandalism prevents the community at large from enjoying access to these facilities and could lead to them falling into a state of disrepair.

    Troopers are asking for the public's help. If you see something suspicious, contact the trooper dispatch immediately at 907-895-4800.

    Type: Death Investigation

    Dispatch Text:

    On July 28, 2025 at 1255 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a deceased adult female at a residence in Tok. Troopers and VPSOs responded to the residence and located 93-year-old Tok resident Ada Mullett, deceased. The death was determined to be due to natural causes. After a consultation with the State Medical Examiner’s Office, Mullett's remains were released to the family for funeral arrangements. Next of kin were on scene.

    On 07/28/2025 at 1848 hours the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop near Mile 259 Parks Hwy for a moving violation.  Investigation determined the driver, a 16-year-old female was driving on an Instructional Permit without a driver over 21 years old in the vehicle as required.  The female was issued a misdemeanor summons for Driving in Violation of an Instructional Permit.  The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

    On 07/24/2025 at approximately 1404 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a Red Ford pick up truck on Big Lake Road where the truck had no plates displayed. Investigation revealed the driver, Gavin McIver, age 29 of Big Lake, had a canceled driver's license. McIver was issued a summons to appear in court for Driving While License Canceled and for Failure to Display License Plates.

    On 07/08/2025 at approximately 1258 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a black GMC Sierra for an equipment violation on Big Lake Road. The driver was identified as Derek Howard, age 42 of Big Lake. Investigation revealed Howard was operating the vehicle with an expired driver's license over one year and had no proof of liability insurance. Howard was issued a summons to appear in court for No Valid Operators License and a citation for No Proof of Insurance.
