On 10/9/24 at 1930 hours, Troopers responded to an address on Cape Ninilchik Ave for a report of a disturbance. An investigation showed Mary Stover, 44 of Anchor Point, had assaulted a family member. Mary Stover was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail pending arraignment.

On 10/14/2024 at approximately 0839 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a death investigation at an address on Ellis White Circle in Big Lake. A 73-year-old male was found deceased from natural causes. Next of Kin was on scene. No foul play is suspected.

On 10/14/2024 at approximately 0853 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance at the Mat-Su Regional Hospital ER waiting room. Investigation led to the arrest of Rouri O'Shea-Grantham, age 40 of Anchorage, for Criminal Trespass I, Harassment I, Attempt Harassment I x2, & Disorderly Conduct against hospital staff. O'Shea-Grantham was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $100 bail.

On 10/14/2024 at approximately 0934 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a business on Fireweed Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed a 27-year-old male was refusing to leave and verbally threatened the clerk. Charges for Assault IV are being sent to the Palmer DAO for review.

Unknown suspect(s) stole a Mission Trailer (AK Plate 6635AH) sometime in the last few days. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact Troopers, Crime Stoppers, or AK Tips.

On 10/14/2024 at approximately 1401 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the Mat-Su Food Bank on Blue Lupine in Wasilla for a report of a male that ran in the building and activated the fire alarm. The building evacuated as a result of the alarm. Investigation revealed Kristopher Berberich, age 27 of Wasilla, intentionally set off the false alarm. Berberich was arrested for Terroristic Threatening II & False Report and was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

On 10/14/2024 at approximately 1552 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a vehicle v. motorcycle collision at the intersection of Bogard Road and Earl Drive in Wasilla. Initial investigation revealed the Harley Davidson Motorcycle was passing in a no passing zone and stuck a Chevy Van that was making a left turn. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for injuries. Investigation into this incident is ongoing.

On October 13, 2024, AST received a report of five overdue hunters who were stranded in low water about 10 miles southwest of Saint Michael. They were reportedly experiencing mechanical problems with their boat. Search personnel in Saint Michael responded to the area and did not locate them. On October 14, 2024, at about 1200 the hunters self-rescued themselves and went to Stebbins to repair their boat. All assets are out of the field and the hunters are safe.

On October 12, 2024, at 5:12pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that Levi Bunting, age 25 of Kodiak, threw a large rock through a window of a parked, fully marked Ford Explorer patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle was parked at the Kodiak AST Post at the time of the incident. Troopers contacted Bunting at his residence and placed him under arrest for Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree involving Domestic Violence for another incident that took place immediately after damaging the patrol vehicle. Bunting was remanded at the Kodiak City Jail without bail.

On 10/13/2024 AST responded to the Fort Knox Gold Mine near Fox, Alaska for a report of an intoxicated driver. Investigation revealed William Barkhuff (46) of Fairbanks was intoxicated while operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle. Barkhuff was arrested and remanded at FCC without incident.

On 10/13/24 the Alaska State Troopers were informed that a rifle was lost at a remote area of Chena Hot Spring Road when it fell off the back of the owner’s truck on 10/12/24. The reporting party attempted to locate the weapon although was unsuccessful. The rifle was described as a 22-caliber rifle with distinctive features and the serial number was also provided. The weapon was placed in lost/stolen status. Anyone with information about this can call the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks at (907) 451-5100. On 10/08/2024 the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Chena Ridge Road in Fairbanks. During the investigation it was found that the operator, David Maxell (69) of Fairbanks was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Maxell was arrested and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility without incident.
