On 6/18/2025 at approximately 1036 hours, the Alaska State Troopers encountered a stolen vehicle on W Hollywood Road. Troopers identified Shalena Jacobson (43YOA) and Lloyd Ives (40YOA) as the occupants of the pickup truck. Both were arrested for Vehicle Theft 1, Theft 2, and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where they were held per the bail schedule.

On 06/17/2025 at approximately 1930 hours, AST received a report from an anonymous source stating that Robert Paulson, 62 YOA, was residing at a property near KGB in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Robert had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. AST responded and contacted Robert. He was arrested for his warrant and transported to MSPT, where he was remanded and held on a $250.00 bail.

On June 18, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle off the road near Hurst Road and Outside Boulevard. The vehicle was located approximately 50 feet down a steep embankment. The adult male driver, exhibited signs of impairment and admitted to consuming alcohol. He was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Troopers obtained a search warrant for a blood sample, and lab results are pending. The case remains under investigation and may result in criminal charges if impairment is confirmed.

On June 17, 2025, at approximately 2137 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call reporting the whereabouts of Alexander Pace, who had a warrant for his arrest. Troopers responded and located Alexander Pace on the front porch of a Fairbanks Residence. Alexander was also found to be on conditions of release and was found violating the conditions by contacting the victim of an assault involving a Domestic Violence crime. Alexander was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center for unlawful contact, Violating Conditions of Release, and to serve his arrest warrant.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 1830 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence in Salcha. Upon arrival, Troopers located William Tate deceased inside the home. There were no signs of trauma, and no foul play is suspected at this time. The State Medical Examiner has placed a hold on the body pending a review of Mr. Tate’s medical records. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing pending the Medical Examiner’s findings.

On June 18, 2025 The Alaska State Troopers located Thomas Dementieff as a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Shane Carroll. Dementieff had an outstanding $100,000 fully extraditable warrant for his arrest on charges of Misconduct involving a weapon II, Assault III, Criminal Mischief IV, Recklesss Endangerment, and Misconduct Involving a weapon IV. AST conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Easy street in Fairbanks. Dementieff was taken into custody on his warrant. The driver Shane Carroll was placed under arrest for felony Hindering prosecution in the 1st degree. Dementieff and Carroll were both remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 6/14/2025 at approximately 1050 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Justin Lewis, age 49, of Oakland, California, along with two young fishermen, near the Ninilchik River. Lewis admitted the group was sport fishing in closed waters. Lewis was cited for sport fishing in closed waters and issued a citation for a total fine of $120, and the youth were provided warnings for fishing in closed waters.

On June 17, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an overturned boat on the Chatanika River, approximately 40 miles north of Fairbanks. The caller reported that she was rafting down the river with Joye Maple, age 67, of Fairbanks, when their raft overturned. The caller saw Joye get trapped in a set of branches along the bank. The caller was able to reach the shore and then walked to the Steese Highway to get help. Alaska Wildlife Troopers, PAWS and WSAR responded to the area and located Joye deceased in the river. Next of kin was on scene. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

On June 17, 2025, Alaska State Troopers were notified of an officer-involved shooting in Utqiagvik. A North Slope Borough Police Department officer contacted an adult male related to outstanding warrants. During the contact, the officer discharged their firearm, striking the suspect. He was medevaced to an Anchorage hospital for treatment. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has assumed case responsibility at the request of the North Slope Borough Police Department and will conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting. Once their investigation has been completed, it will be independently reviewed by the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions. Investigators are responding to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE 6/18/25: The Alaska State Troopers who discharged their firearms during the officer-involved shooting on June 14th are identified as:
- Trooper Jacob Barker, a six-year veteran of the Alaska State Troopers
- Trooper Kody Haley, a nine-month veteran of the Alaska State Troopers
- Trooper Edward Owens, a four-month veteran of the Alaska State Troopers
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation is continuing their thorough investigation into the incident. Once their investigation is complete it will be independently reviewed by the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions.
UPDATE 8:45 p.m. 6/15/25: The adult male who died during this incident is 34-year-old Wasilla resident Kyle Lambert. Lambert's next of kin have been notified.
ORIGINAL: On June 14, 2025, at around 11:30 pm, multiple Alaska State Troopers were searching a property in Houston for an adult male who had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Troopers located the man hiding in a camper on the property, which he refused to exit despite the troopers' orders to do so. As Troopers entered the camper to arrest the man, he produced a handgun. Due to his actions, the man was shot by multiple Troopers. The man was declared deceased on the scene. Next of kin notifications are in progress; once next of kin have been notified, the man's name will be released. The man’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. No Troopers or other persons were injured during the incident.
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has assumed case responsibility and will conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting. Once their investigation has been completed, it will be independently reviewed by the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions. The Troopers who discharged their firearms have been placed on 7 days of administrative leave in accordance with DPS policy; their names will be released in three days.
