     On 6/3/25 AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation on W Maplewood Drive in Big Lake. The driver, Raymond Pointer (55), was found to have an active warrant for Driving with License Suspended. Raymond was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial and held on $500 bail.

    On 06/04/2025 at approximately 1627 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were informed of a vehicle following a woman in the area of Beaver Lake Road. AST responded and located the vehicle. Investigation revealed Geoffrey Flaherty, age 59 of Houston, was operating a vehicle while under the influence. Geoffrey was placed under arrest for DUI. He received an additional charge of Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test and Violating Conditions of Release. Geoffrey was transported to MSPT, where he was remanded. Bail was set at his own recognizance.

    On 06/04/2025 at approximately 1138 hours, Troopers took a report of a burglary in the area of mile 93 of the Richardson Hwy. Upon further investigation, it was determined the power had been shut off and items were taken. The suspect(s) have been identified via cameras even though the power was turned over. The investigation is on-going.

    On 06/04/2025 at approximately 0805 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Church Road and Seldon Road. Investigation revealed a White GMC Yukon failed to stop for the stop sign at Beverly Lakes Road/Seldon Road causing a collision in the middle of Church Road with a Silver Nissan Altima. The driver of the Altima sustained possible serious injuries and the driver of the Yukon was released on scene with possible minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

    On 06/04/2025 AST, in collaboration with Matsu Animal Care, conducted a search warrant on a residence on E Susitna Dr, in Wasilla, due to Animal Welfare concerns. 21 dogs were recovered living inside the residence. MatSu Borough Animal Care has taken protective custody of the Animals pending examination by a veterinarian and AST investigation of potential animal cruelty charges.

    On 06/04/2025 at approximately 0053 hours, The Alaska State Trooper responded to a disturbance in Fairbanks. Troopers' investigation determined that Leisa Jones committed the crimes of Assault 2 dv and Assault in the presence of a child. Leisa was transported to FCC.

    On June 3, 2025 Grants Pass Police Department in Oregon contacted the Alaska State Troopers to request assistance in apprehending 19 yo Timothy Evans, whom they discovered was living in the Fairbanks area.  Evans had a nationwide $250,000 fully extraditable arrest warrant for Assault II and Unlawful use of a Weapon out of Oregon.  On June 4, 2025, the Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU) in Fairbanks located Timothy Evans and took him into custody.  Evans was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on charges of Fugitive from Justice.  Evans will be held without bail while he awaits extradition to Oregon.

    On June 3, 2025, at approximately 1852 hours, Fairbanks AST conducted a traffic stop on Chena Hot Springs Road. The driver was identified as Jason Hurd. Jason had two outstanding warrants out of Glenallen for DUI and improper use of plates. Jason was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    On June 4, 2025, at approximately 3:23 p.m., the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Geist Road and University Avenue in Fairbanks. An investigation revealed that one of the drivers failed to stop at a red light, resulting in the collision. That driver was issued a citation. Two of the involved vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene. Emergency Medical Services responded and provided care for minor injuries. No further medical treatment was required.

    On 06/04/2025 at 1413 hours The Alaksa State Troopers responded to a 2 vehicle MVC at Mile 210 Parks Highway, in Cantwell.  Investigation determined Brooke Fike, age 28 from Wasilla was driving in the vehicle without a licensed driver in the vehicle as required by her instructional permit.  Fike was issued a misdemeanor summons for Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit.  The actions of both drivers are considered to be contributing factors in the collision.

    On 6/4/2025 at approximately 1010 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Dennis Taylor, age 22 of Soldotna, while sealing a black bear at Soldotna ADFG. Taylor did not have the required permit to take a black bear in GMU 6D and was issued a citation with $150 fine.

    Type: Sexual Abuse of a Minor II

    Dispatch Text:

    In February 2025, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation (ABI) received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in Metlakatla, Alaska.  The investigation revealed that Colton Hayward (age 25 of Metlakatla) sexually abused a 13-year-old female.  On June 4, 2025, ABI, along with AST SDEU, and Kodiak AST, traveled to Metlakatla and arrested Hayward without incident.  Hayward was remanded to the Ketchikan Jail on no bail for the charge of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.
