On 9/15/2024, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point received a R.E.D.D.I report stating a vehicle was driving erratically on the Sterling highway. The vehicle was located, and subsequent investigation determined the driver, Nestor Ivanov (68 years old) was driving under the influence. Nester was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on 1x count of DUI and 1x count of refusal to submit to a chemical test.

On 9.15.2024 at approximately 1330 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Clydesdale Drive in Wasilla and contacted William Sanderlin, age 41, on Wasilla. An investigation revealed William had violated a domestic violence protective order by contacting the petitioner. Further investigation revealed William was in violation of his conditions of release by contacting the victim of a domestic violence crime. William was arrested for Violating a Protective Order and Violating Conditions of Release and transported to MSPT, remanded, and held without bail.

On 09/16/2024 at 0718 hours, AST received the report of a motor vehicle accident after the fact in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that a juvenile, had driven the vehicle in a reckless manner. The investigation is ongoing.

On 09/16/2024 at approximately 1604 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of CRNA for a report of gunshots being heard in the area. Upon further investigation, two individuals were contacted and detained. CRNA was placed in a brief lock down due to the incident. The incident was quickly resolved. No injuries reported. The investigation is on-going.

Investigation led to the arrest of Timothy Bouchard, age 33 of Wasilla, for Assault IV DV. Bouchard was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

On 09/15/2024 at approximately 2333 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Infinite Road in Wasilla for a death investigation. Initial investigation revealed two 20-year-old females were found deceased in the residence from a suspected overdose. A third person was transported to the hospital for a suspected overdose but is expected to survive. Investigation into this incident is ongoing. Next of Kin notifications are still underway.

On 09/15/2024 at approximately 2130 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Williams Court in Palmer for a disturbance. Troopers contacted James Davis, age 52 of Palmer, at the property. Investigation revealed Davis had a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear on the original charge of DWLR. Davis was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $200 bail.

On 09/15/2024 at approximately 2245 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Meadow near Hyer in Wasilla. Troopers contacted Trent Summerfield, age 31 of Wasilla, and investigation revealed he had a warrant for his arrest on the original charge of Assault II. Summerfield was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

On 9/16/2024 at approximately 1516 hours, AST received an anonymous request for a welfare check at a residence in Willow. The investigation revealed that Eric Wedermyer, 47 years old from Willow, had caused injury to a family member. Wedermyer was arrested for DV Assault 4 without incident, transported, and remanded to Matsu Pretrial with no bail.

On 9/16/24 at approximately 0327 hours Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance at in Houston. Jody Riihimaki, 36 of Houston, was reported to be screaming and throwing things inside a friend’s residence. Upon contact with Troopers, Jody attempted to assault Troopers and damaged a bathroom door in the process. Jody was charged with Assault 4, Criminal Mischief 5, and Disorderly Conduct. She was remanded to Matsu-Pretrial facility and held on $500 bail.

UPDATE 9/17: Next of kin notifications have been completed. The individuals that were killed in this crash have been identified as:
- 23-year-old Ohio resident Mario Gioiello
- 34-year-old Chugiak resident and pilot Scott Grillion
- 44-year-old Sterling resident Benjamin Sweeney
- 25-year-old South Carolina resident Caleb Swortzel
Their bodies have been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
ORIGINAL: On September 15, 2024, at 11:15 pm, the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center contacted the Alaska State Troopers about an overdue aircraft in the St. Mary’s area. St. Mary’s based Troopers responded to the last known location of the aircraft and located a crashed Cessna T207. Troopers located four deceased adult males at the wreckage site approximately ½ mile from the runway. Wildlife Troopers and US Fish and Wildlife Officers responded to assist with transporting the deceased individuals to the roadway so that they can be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The identities of the deceased men will be released once they have been positively identified and next of kin have been notified. The NTSB was notified and will investigate the cause of the crash.

On 09/15/2024, a citizen called Alaska State Trooper dispatch repeatedly throughout the day and was not reporting and police, fire, or medical emergency. No emergency existed to necessitate the repeated phone calls. Charges were forwarded to the District Attorney's Office.

On 9/15/24 at approximately 2003 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Delta Junction received a call reporting an active disturbance at a residence on Clearwater Road. Investigation revealed Victor Kravets, 52 years of age, of Delta Junction assaulted two family members and left the scene driving a vehicle while intoxicated. Kravets was located, placed under arrest and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. Kravets is charged with Domestic Violence Assault in the 3rd degree, Assault in the 4th degree, DUI and Violating Conditions of Release.
