On 04/10/2025 at about 2007 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted a vehicle which had drove into the ditch at mile 13 of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that the sole occupant and driver Lauren Gates, age 31 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs. Gates was arrested for DUI and ultimately Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 04/10/2025 at approximately 2304 hours, Troopers received a report of a single vehicle injury crash near mile 158 Glenn Highway. Troopers responded and found a single vehicle and gone off the road, landing on its side. No injuries reported. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor.

On 4/11/25 at approximately 1040 hours Palmer AST performed a routine traffic stop on a vehicle near Pioneer Peak Dr in Wasilla for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed the driver, Franklin Billum, age 39 of Wasilla, was impaired by a controlled substance. Billum was arrested and transported to Mat Su Pretrial where he was remanded for 1 count of DUI. Billum was later released on his own recognizance.

Location: WasillaType: Pursuit, Fail to Stop II, DWLR, Warrant ArrestDispatch Text:
On 04/10/2025 at approximately 2226 hours AST attempted to conduct a traffic stop on an ATV travelling with no rear lights on S Vine Road. The vehicle failed to yield to AST's emergency lights, and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle turned into a driveway off Birch Cove Drive, and the driver exited the vehicle and fled. The driver was identified by witnesses as Raymond Murray, age 33, of Wasilla, and he was apprehended after a search in the surrounding area. Raymond had a Felony warrant out for his arrest stemming from the original charges of MIW 3 and Theft 3. Raymond was arrested on his warrant, as well as Failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer 2, and DWLR.
Raymond was transported to Mat-Su pretrial where he is being held on $1300 bail.

On April 11, 2025, Alaska State Troopers responded to a domestic violence incident involving Julia BECK, who was involved in an altercation. The altercation began at a residence in Willow before BECK was transported to her home in Wasilla. Investigation revealed BECK caused physical injuries to two victims—knocking one to the ground causing abrasions and contusions, and headbutting the other in the nose causing significant bleeding. While being transported, BECK deliberately spit on an individual’s face and upper torso. She was subsequently arrested and remanded to MatSu PreTrial Facility on two counts of Assault in the 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) and one count of Harassment in the 1st Degree, and held without bail.

On April 10, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a deceased person at a residence in Emmonak. Troopers responded and found 54-year-old Michael Andrews Jr. deceased. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. Andrews’ next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.

On April 11 2025, at approximately 0133 hours, Alaskan State Troopers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Badger Rd. and Kimi St. Following investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Gregory Myers (32M), was found to be under the influence of alcohol and had a blood-alcohol level more than double the legal limit. Gregory was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without further incident.

On April 11 2025, at approximately 0617 hours, Alaskan State Troopers responded to a report made to 911 of a victim of assault who was at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The victim reported that she was doused in kerosene and physically attacked by her boyfriend (Andrew Sexton, 36M). Following investigation, Andrew was found to have committed multiple assaults (including felony assault), arrested, and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without further incident.

On April 10, 2025, at approximately 0419 hours, AST received a report of a DV assault. Investigation revealed that Benjamin Mulberger assaulted his domestic partner with a dangerous instrument. Benjamin was later taken into custody on an arrest warrant for charges of Assault in the Third Degree and Violating Conditions of Release. Benjamin was remanded at FCC.

On 04/11/2025, AST responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of University and Airport Way. Investigation revealed one vehicle, traveling too fast for road conditions, ran a red light and struck a vehicle traveling east on Airport Way. The impact pushed the second vehicle into a third, which was parked in the turn lane on University. Citations were issued to the driver that ran the light. Two individuals were transported to FMH, and the disabled vehicles were towed.

On 04/11/2025 at 1841 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI report about a red Toyota speeding excessively and passing dangerously near Mile 307 Parks Highway. At 1905 hours (24 minutes later) AST located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Mile 262 Parks Highway (45 miles away). The driver, Kayden Grucci, age 21 from Fort Wainwright received citations for Speeding and Negligent Driving.

On 4/11/25, Alaska Wildlife Troopers charged Viktor Popov, 48, of New Jersey, with Taking Caribou Closed Season, Using Motor Vehicle to Harass Game x2, Import Alcohol to Dry Local Option Community, and Assault 4. Popov was remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail on these misdemeanor charges and on a Kotzebue PD arrest warrant.

On 10/17/2023 at approximately 1500 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in Houston, AK. Alaska Bureau of Investigation Child Abuse Investigation Unit investigated the report. Investigation revealed Christopher Terrell Mack, 36, committed the crime of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First and Second Degrees on multiple occasions to a 14-year-old minor. On 4/9/2025, a Palmer Grand Jury indicted Mack on seven counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree and two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree. On 4/11/2025 at approximately 1645 hours, Mack was arrested by members of Palmer Patrol and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility without incident.

On January 26, 2025, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of an anonymous email where the author attempted to extort the Alaska State Troopers. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation investigated the source of the email, and on April 9, 2025, 32-year-old Wasilla resident Brock Leopold was arrested by Troopers on one charge of Extortion and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial without incident.

On 4/10/25, the Alaska State Troopers Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in Kodiak arrested Erin Monkiewicz, 24 yoa of Kodiak for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree for sale of cocaine in Kodiak.
E. Monkiewicz was remanded to the Kodiak Jail.
